How long do you have to be a member for?

Access to the Members Market forum requires two things. Firstly, you will need to have over 1000 posts and have been signed up for at least 180 days. Please note that this does not mean you spam the forums simply to increase your posts, as this action will result in posts being deducted, and if you continue this behaviour, your account will eventually be banned/suspended. Once you reach 1000 posts, you will need to activate your trust. The Trust system is for Members Market feedback only and not to be used for general user comments. Abusing the trust system will not be tolerated and such abuse will result in your account being suspended/ banned. Trust activation is either found in your UserCP, or you can press the trust button that appears at the bottom of all your posts.

Once you satisfy both of these criteria, Members Market access will be granted within 24hrs. Please do not post on the forums asking why you cannot access the members market, if you have any queries, email one of the forum Dons/Admins. The contact addresses are available in the FAQ. There is no buying, or selling allowed outside of the Members Market.

ocuk should offer a fee based option for those of us who have lurked for years or have been buying from ocuk since the early days:)

The 1000 post requirement is a bit silly tbh. Look at me, a member since forever and nothing but 100% premium quality posts to my name, and as such nowhere near to qualifying.

Ask a mod if given your account age, you would be able to get access. i think it used to be 250 posts before they brought in the 1000 post rule.

OMG never and I mean never sell computer parts to CEX. You'll get very little for it. EBay is probably the best place. The only bad being the fees

Unless the part is a faulty hd 7950 ;) then by all means sell it ^.^ ....not that i did such a thing >.> <.< >.>

This. Before I had access to the MM I tried selling a 7970 on Gumtree and I was offered a swap for a ford fiesta with no engine!

"How will I get it home if its got no engine?" I asked

"Oh yeah!" he replied :o

MM is pretty brutal, id like £100 for this, il offer £40, il offer £41, il offer £42,
sorry £95 will be the lowest i will take,
hmm, il offer £43 then?

You wont make as much on the MM mainly because things go for what they are worth. Ive sold stuff on ebay for nearly the as new price when postage was added.

I don't think things go what what they are worth on mm here. Tight gits, most of em.

I hate it when someone comes along with 'but this guy sold one for £xxx '. One person sells something for less than its worth, and suddenly everyone thinks that's the going price.

Try gumtree, then fleebay, then mm.

I tried this approach as I was a long time lurker, and was informed that the rules are the rules and I'll have to wait until I reach 1000 posts.

cex.co.uk have been pretty good in my experience for selling GPUs and CPUs.
