Hi guys anyone dealt with EVGA RMA before ?? I have had to send my gtx980ti SC back to Germany this morning as DOA received the card on 8th June, only took it out of box on 3rd July, as I finished my new build, and windows wouldn't recognise the card after 5-6 times of re sitting the card in pcie slot and seeing the same black screen, checked bios to see if there was an option to disable onboard graphics, couldn't see anything so I submitted and RMA, that cost me £54 to send just the graphics card to Germany, and then to be told I will get something equivalent, or better, surely something that's better than the 980ti sc that would be the Titan z as the Titan x is not as good as the one I purchased but I suppose they are on par with each other performance wise, I was was cheesed off that I had to pay for a product that was faulty from day one, rma's that I have dealt with before we're all free no money needed to be paid.

Where do I stand in refusing to accept the card they send me as I don't think they will be sending me a brand new card ??

If it was DOA I would be looking to claim back that £50+ postage from EVGA too, in fact they should have emailed you a prepaid UPS label tbh as that is what they did with my 570 a few years ago.

Once you have sended the card if it's faulty you have the right to get your money back, at least in Spain, i think in europe is similar but... take a look in any case, you will get a new brand replacement, for sure.

I did go back to the place I had it from their policy was 48hours from point of sale is all they give and I have to go through EVGA RMA to get it changed, when I had to send my Xbox off to Germany to be repaired that was free, only label I had through EVGA was my returns address and their address and RMA number and serial number on the front of the box

Next time I buy my next card for sli then I will surely come to overclockers UK, I have to wait now probably 10 days plus to receive it back, I couldn't believe the postage cost I was like how much ha ha, how would I go about asking to be refunded the postage as EVGA state that I am responsible for postage costs

you can open a case or ask in the same rma thread that you have created on your product/account, when i've sended a card to evga i posted the cost on the rma thread and the bill.

I've received the money in my account 30 days later.

You'll get a 980ti sc back. They have 1000s of them - It's their most popular card by miles. They can't surely by the laws of performance parts and economics have hardly any titanX or TitanZ cards so you'll never get those.

All EVGA cards are sealed. I bet your PSU was running 2 plugs off one rail or something - that might have been the issue, I would have tried another psu or motherboard before returning such an expensive graphics card.

Did you buy it in the UK? If so then that 48 hour return windows is all kinds of illegal in the UK. I'm pretty certain you have up to 28 days to return faulty goods to the place of purchase for either a refund or replacement.

But as you've sent it back already do as elfoscuro says above and ask them nicely and I'm sure they will refund you.

Thanks guys for all the information I do appreciate it, not to savvy on power supply's and rails I know power supply a have rails but don't know how they work, I have corsair ax1200i, I didn't have a spare power supply at hand, yes I am in the uk, I do know that if a item fails within the first 6 months then your first point of contact is the place you purchased it from, as they have to by law get it exchanged, yes they may offer you the option to get your item sent off to be repaired but you don't have to accept that though, as its Faulty within 6 month they have to prove that the item wasn't faulty or somewhere along those lines

Get on the EVGA forums right away mate, they would have sent you a pre payed shipping label as your card is under 30 days old.
Their support is second to none and I'm sure they will get you sorted.

Are you running the latest motherboard bios? A out of date bios can cause motherboard/gpu compatibility problems which usually show up as a black screen.

It was a brand new motherboard gigabyte z97x g1 gaming wifi bk, when it was up and running, I checked to see if there was an update for motherboard via gigabyte software but it always comes back as an error can't connect or something along those lines, when I get gpu back I will have to do it via gigabyte website, I have sent them a ticket regarding a refund

Can't see a refund happening though as it states in the documentation that I received from EVGA when the RMA was approved it states I am responsible for shipping costs and import duties

That's why you should have gone through the place you bought it from. Having to spend £54 on top of a already expensive card is a kick in the teeth.

I have had a reply from EVGA saying for me to get in touch with support and they will arrange a pre paid slip, but as you know I have already sent the card back, so I have replied to them again saying item has been sent, and if they would like the receipt, looking good for the refund hopefully
