Would you buy an AMD Fury Pro if it was cheaper and faster than a GTX 980 ?

As in the title, would you buy an AMD Fury Pro if it was cheaper and faster than a GTX 980.

With the launch of the card in the next few days would you consider buying one.

Yes, but if it's cheaper and faster then pretty much anyone who's looking for a card in that price range will go for it over the alternative.

Unless it has some crazy flaw, or you NEED more than the 4 GB VRAM then it's the obvious choice. You'd have to be a pretty diehard fanboy to buy a card that's lower performance and more expensive if the other features are fairly equal.

Edit - I'm still deciding what/when to replace my ageing GTX580 with, so I'll be keeping an eye on what the Fury does, and what effect it might have on the prices of the cards around it.

If I didn't already have my 2 290's, without a doubt, I was considering a 980Ti but considered against it given the performance loss and price.
I may upgrade to two furies at a later date though when the price comes down.

Tell that to everyone would bought a 960 near launch.. some people never learn :)

If it's @ no more than 350 Then looks like my 270x in the 2nd rig will be replaced . cant justify any more money chucked at it .

I probably would yes, though it would be for my second system. Ideally id love to try a fury x, but after blowing too much cash on the card in sig the bank balance says NO WAY.:D

Where would it fit in? what Price?

R9 390X Average price £350
GTX 980 Average price £400
Fury-X £530

The 390X has about the same performance as the GTX 980 for about £50 less.

I have a 290 which is not far behind, certainly nowhere near enough for me to sell up and the splash out £200 / £300 on a 390X or GTX 980.

The most i would be willing to spend on a GPU is £350, but its needs to be worth me spending that, if it sits in the middle of a GTX 980 and a GTX 980TI then to me its worth £350. thats not going to happen.

This is the problem when after 2 years the performance up step on both sides has moved little while the price remains the same.

Not like it was back in 2013 where a HD 7870 was faster than a 6970 and a 7970 was nearly twice as fast.

Yup, just waiting on reviews and pricing.

I don't want to try another Fury X as the whine has put me off. To much hassle if I get another screamer. So Fury may be the way forward.. Or 980 Ti..

why did u choose the strix kaap? ^^;

Pics of the Fury Pro are still very rare so I used the best one I could find.

What is going to be interesting about this new card is all the different AIB partners cooling solutions, some of which should be quite impressive and colourful.:)

Sooooooooooooooooo, all 2?? Or you not read about that yet? Only Sapphire and Asus releasing at launch (at least)

If I make a second rig it would probably be as small as reasonably possible so unless the fury pro has a small form factor variant it would likely be the nano I guess

Did Fallout 3 and New Vegas favour either company, are there news of FO4 being "sponsored" by either? The new Deus Ex is apparently an AMD title but that's coming next year so not of huge relevance right now.
