The universe will completely die in..

The energy used in making the footstep is used to push the mud/gravel/sand etc. out of the way (hence it's harder to run on sand as it takes more energy) and to propel the animal forwards. It all ends up as heat eventually; the particles of sand moving against each other generate friction, and therefore heat, and stop (otherwise they would move indefinitely).

That's frictional energy, I am talking about the impact energy.

Say you jump up and down on the spot, where does that energy go from your impacts?

To say the universe has a start and end is a oxymoron, otherwise what would you call the universe before the so called big bang?

I personally think it just kicked off, in this little patch of the universe all them billions of years ago. A few black holes having a punch up etc. That's if the things exist.

To me the universe is a massive fractal, its the only explanation. ;)

Look at the global warming/pollution debacle. Mainstream science is fraudulent for the large part, pushing an agenda over the truth.

The same can found in many different areas of science, medicine, geology, climate studies and so on.

Being open-minded, and vehemently rejecting anything mainstream are not equivalent positions.

The mainstream views on the early universe, plate tectonics, and climate change are the mainstream because they're the most convincing explanations when considering the evidence.

Any youtube video suggesting otherwise might well convince you but spouting off about the mainstream being "fraudulent" is going to get you nowhere but called a tinhat-wearer.

Out of interest have you taken any courses on cosmology, atmospheric physics, or geology? If not please shut up about how wrong the "mainstream" is.

(P.S. I have taken courses on both cosmology and climate physics, and the arguments for the Big Bang and AGW are pretty convincing.)

(P.P.S. Interesting piece in the Guardian yesterday: Exxon knew of climate change in 1981, email says – but it funded deniers for 27 more years)

I love how animate organic matter has somehow assembled itself into something that thinks that it is more important than it actually is. You're going to die, and it's going to be hilarious.

It's probably absorbed/attenuated by the planet? The planet's pretty big, so negligible observable effect.

If you're jumping up and down, you're converting kinetic energy into potential energy and back to kinetic energy. In this scenario it's effectively an equilibrium and energy is conserved, like two balls attached by a spring.

Edit: Oh hey, vsauce covered it

The end will come much sooner that people think. Mark my words! The way the world is going, with wars, terrorism, communism i think that man will probably end up destroying the word himself very soon! Or, as i believe, Jesus will come again to judge mankind. Then look out!!!
If you believe Jesus will come again do you think he will have better powers than last time?
Like instead of feeding just 5000 will he be able to feed all the world's starving this time and instead of curing the odd blind/mute/dead person do you think he will be able to rid the world of all evils and right all its wrongs?

I read a quantum theory that stated the universe never started but it has always existed if that was the case then there never would be an end.

This time he will come to judge!! No feeding any 5,000. No curing the blind. No raising the dead. He will come to judge the living and the dead!! Believe in Jesus. Believe in God. Simple.

So you think he's going to completely clear Earth of all humans & banish them?
That'll take some doing and probably not a fair thing to do as some might like it here, bad Jesus :(

Those that deserve hell will be sent there. Those that deserve Heaven will be sent there! Simples!

Yeah I thought he loved everyone.

He does, until you do something in which he does not approve.

Then he is happy to see you burn in hell and suffer for the rest of your life.

Sounds suspiciously like a human trait to me and not some all powerful being! :p

On topic:

What are your thoughts on the universe being a fractal ?
