That's exactly where you'd be looking if you were pulling out of that space and driving that vehicle - down to your right to make sure you clear the car on your drivers side. Clearly a lot of people here have never driven a van!
Correct but he appears to do this part after hitting the car when the van is already clear of the car, more like he is checking the damage rather than clearance. Plus if he was checking the clearance he'd have definitely noticed the collision or he wasn't checking that he cleared the car as it moved.

, i always leave room especially as car is in front of my house which is a resident's only controlled bay. This Van driver was a chancer who parked after 7:30pm and then proceeded to take my bumper with him when he left at 8:50am . Just wish he had got a Ticket from the Parking Warden too, that would have made my day
