fuming it's down the drivers and passenger doors.
I have tried a rubbing compound which made the lighter scratch better but a massive line of it is still there.

Any tips on what to try next ?

Wet and dry if its only the clear coat, anything deeper will need paint, i used to use a tooth pick to fill the scratch with paint then wet and dry it flat then polish to a shine takes a while but is the cheapest option and if done with care you wont notice it.

Unlucky. People like this are the scum of society that have nothing better to do with their life

Jealously...
I think jealousy is almost never the motivation for this sort of thing. Its usually some righteous little person who thinks they are serving justice for whatever they deem appropriate, bad parking, cutting them up, parking to close to their car or in front of their house etc. If not that it would be a personal attack i.e ex-girlfriend etc

get the number of somebody who can do smart repairs and comes recommended by a colleague / friend / neighbour / internet forum.

I think it's both. Because you have nicer things than them, they think you're an overpaid nob who needs to be brought down a peg. It's easy to imagine caricatures of people you haven't met.

Bored/drunk/frustrated kids ( teenagers) are a good bet too.

I'd hazard a bet that it's more jealousy than any of those. Grown people are capable of some wtf things sadly. You'll find a lot of kids/teens actually tend to leave nice cars alone, at least down here anyway. It's the adults that tend to have a mission to ruin someone's day. if kids do anything it's usually nicking your dust caps for their bikes :p

The only time I've had a nice car vandalised was when someone at an old workplace keyed the driver's door with something racial. Private secure carpark so must have been someone in one of the offices in my building not liking the new car I'd only had a week because they didn't touch the old one...

I can't do anymore with polishing so have ordered some paint for the deeper parts. Will fill in with toothpick.

It's not that bad now but it really ****es me off. I'm pretty sure it happened in a pub car park the other day.

I've had my mirror kicked off in the street opposite of me in a covered car park/garage.

Asked about it to neighbours, happens there a lot, often they kick off the mirrors of a whole row, and tear up the windscreen wipers.

Kids like to hang out there at night to drink or smoke a joint...

In the city near the places where loads of people go out it happens often too.

Scratching/keying cats is something often something older people do though indeed, often if you hear about these people being caught they're often old farts.
