Was 150 yds from OCUK - now 0.5 mile; they moved
I decided to grow some veg this year. The usual stuff.
Peas, brocohi, cauliflower, sweetcorn, tomatos, strawberrys, chillis, sprouts, etc.

I have even planted pumpkin seeds for Halloween time too.

Anyway 2 week ago I potted the seeds in small trays, today I had to repot them in bigger pots :)

This is what I have so far...

'cut and come again' salad greens are good to grow as you pretty much have a constant supply of salad greens all summer. Spinach also does well.

Just be careful of night time temps depending where abouts you are as it can still freeze overnight around here. http://www.gardenfocused.co.uk/adjust-dates-uk.php

I'll be interested to see how your pumpkins work out as i wouldnt mind growing some myself.

One thing I've planted Ace (also first time grower this year!) is "cut and come again" gem lettuce. They sprout incredibly quickly, and as the name suggests you can take bits of them without affecting the whole plant, so really handy for burgers or little bits of salad.

:D. They are great though as a lettuce from Tesco is around 50-£1 and often in our house some of it'll get wasted as they seem to go off fairly quick. It's great to just be able to pick what you need for a meal and it's also super fresh.

I'm a regular grower, had an allotment but moved to the other side of town so gave it up. I've had experience growing everything that you've got on the go and you've got some real nice stuff to come. The only thing that I struggled with is broccoli, last year the whole bed bolted, however cauliflower (if it comes good) is a absolutely brilliant. Here's my garden built with what I salvaged from the allotment...

Something you maybe interested in growing, which is really easy, is onions. You can buy a bag of sets for a couple of quid and you can just put in the ground and forget, same goes for garlic if it's something you like.

Also, the greenhouse in the pic, I bought from B&M for £20!, I have a little greenhouse like yours but this is quite a bit of an upgrade.

I have some beetroot seeds and carrots too, but as they are root vegetables I need to dig up my garden etc or create a trough first for them to be planted.

Think I will leave them till next year now.

That's the one! I planted beetroot and carrot seed in seed modules last weekend so no problem doing it now. I'll be growing all my root veg in containers this year as the soil is fairly stoney.

Those big plastic terracotta pots from B&M, I've done them in blue ikea bags as well to great effect. Also those big rubbery plastic buckets you see in supermarkets/discount shops.

If you're thinking about pumpkins bear in mind the space they take up they're very vigorous and will take over half your plot given a chance they'll trail 10-15 or more feet easily and the plants have huge leaves big as a dinner plate they'll overshadow anything beneath them.

If you have the room they're good fun especially for kids as you can almost see them grow.

I am growing Runner beans, Dwarf beans, Broccoli, Carrots, Parsnip and Potatoes. Spuds in a big tub which i dug some today for dinner tomorrow!

Haven't got a big patch. Quite small really.

About garlic? How do you grow that? Easy to grow? Harvesting time?
