It absolutely nothing to do with CPU and RAM, it the GPU that is faulty caused screen corruptions!!!
I had same issue with EVGA GTX 670 4GB I had few years ago caused white lines screen corruptions, emailed EVGA tech support about issue then send pics and they confirmed it is faulty card and RMA request approved. A week later received new replacement worked great and send faulty card back in cross shipping.
Is screen corruptions still showed when enter in UEFI BIOS?
You have to RMA it again.![]()
Oh dear your issue was exactly same in past thread where a guy bought refurnished Radeon HD 7950 had these white lines during games was RMAed card but OCUK technical support tested it for 2 days and found no issue then returned it back to guy. Poor guy was frustrated with OCUK pointed finger blamed on old monitor, forced him to buy new monitor but issue still occurred so he RMAed card to OCUK again twice but OCUK still found no issue so they suggested PSU is to blamed, offered guy a big discount on brand new PSU and guy took the offer bought PSU. Unfortunately issue still occurred with brand new PSU, guy insisted Radeon HD 7950 was faulty many times and OCUK finally accepted and exchanged it with brand new 280X then issue was gone. Poor guy had over £300 down in toilet with new monitor and new PSU he really don't need and missed a mortgage payment, furious with OCUK's reckless technical support.
Was your 290X card bought brand new or refurnished?
Can you remember what 290X VBIOS version the card used?

Yea...even habits like smoking and drinking can easily cost far more financially than some PC parts...I suspect that is not actually the case, more than likely he missed a mortgage payment over financial difficulties, due to many things, I expect the GPU issue was just one of the many things involved.

Brand spanking new in the box. I updated the bios to the latest from gigabyte website, still happens. If ocUK send it back what's my next option?
because it's definitely faulty![]()
If OCUK send it back to you again your next best option is to test card in your friend PC, if it still worked then sell it on ebay for around £200 would be attracted to buyers because it still has warranty. When you get card sold and go buy a new GTX 970 at less than £250 on OCUK or maybe a second hand GTX 970.
So this card as been nothing but a pile of ** Swear words must be fully starred ** since I got it..
I'm not sure what it is, artifacts or if its corruption...

Hello there andeevans,
We do our best to try and replicate faults when customers return products back to us. If it is intermittent normally it would still be picked up being honest as the product would be tested for longer.
It causes my support department more hassle sending items back No Fault Found rather than just replacing them as we don't want to get into any arguments or problems if we can not find a issue with the end user.
