Thinking of switching over to water cooling.

I wanted to find out what kind of setup I'd need to move over to water cooling, I've got a pretty large case & the following gear would need to be in the loop.

X2 980ti (overclocked)
Intel i7 5930K (overclocked)

I believe in my case I have room for 2 360m & 1 240m radiators, to match the X99 Deluxe I'd really I'm after white fittings/tube/uv white fluid if I do take the plunge.

For backplate I've found a website in the states white do the following,

For GPU waterblock I'd like something either full black & a full cover block, but apart from that availability is the key.

Any ideas or suggestions?, I'm looking for a pretty cool running setup,

What kind of radiator capacity would I need for the CPU & 2 GPU's?, it seems I can fit a huge 60/thinkness 420mm at the front of my case taking advantage of two huge 200 fans at the front of the case pushing air into the cooler & 3 140m Noct fans pulling aire through the other side - along with a choice of a 240/360/420mm radiator at the top..

Also for the loop, would you reccomend the following,

Pump/resoviour -> 420mm Radiator -> CPU -> 240/360/420m Radiator -> GPU -> GPU -> Cose loop back to pump.

Ideally for the top radiator I'd like to get a somewhat smaller one to keep the temps within a reasonable level, but if it's needed I'll go larger - I'll also be unable to fit such a thich radiator at the top as I can at the front.

So, after doing a little planner I've come up with this,

Case specs.

Proposed loop.

I guess I'm wondering, will this be enough to take the temps at a nice level & is this a good setup for a WC loop (or should stuff be moved around?.

Cooling fans will be,

Phanteks PH-F140HP 140mm White x6

Edit - Changed mind on fan, white & more power.

Final note.

Due to the case, it will have fans on both sides to get an effective push/pull going on both radiators. I've planned the air-flow as follows.

Or, would it be better to switch the main front into exhaust also & use all of them to blow air out of my case - I could add two small fans on the bottom as intakes to keep the inside cool.

The only things I could do with confirming would be if the radiators are sufficient & which connecting blocks I'll need for the GPU's (if any!)

I'm no expert, but from what I've read i think that you want to have 120mm fans on a 120mm wide radiator, so that they form a good seal and air doesn't just get pushed down the side of the rad. Also i don't think there is any temperature advantage to having a radiator between the gpu and cpu in the loop

That makes it easier, so it means the loop will be,

Pump -> Rad -> Rad -> CPU -> GPU -> GPU -> Close loop, means less cable crossing if it really makes zero difference - which I guess is the case as the temperature of the fluid would equalise throughout the loop.

The 140mm Fans are designed for 120m GPU mounts so they look as though they would fit nicely onto the radiators - I'll read up a little more.

The reason for the selection was the lower noise & stronger air pull power 88.6 CFM VS 82.5 CFM for the Noctua NF-A14 - with about 20/25% lower noise. From what I've seen they are well suited but if anybody could confirm that would be great.

I guess the main considering is as to if the 2 360 RAD's are enough.

I'm using now a monster 4x120mm on the bottom and a alphacool xt45 3x120mm on top with 14 fans blowing in p/p, 2 more in the rear side of my case and one in front to cool the hard disks.

In my rig i have 2 titan x, and a 4770k oc'd and is cool enough, the only problem here is the rear vrm's of my titan's that makes the air in the case hotter than desirable.

In any case my titans don't go over 55 degrees oc'd to 1200 mhz memorys oc'd too.

980 ti's are similar so you can see more or less what temperatures you will have, all of this with 35 degrees in the room.

Hmm, forgot that while they will mount at 120 they won't all fit :D.

120mm Noctua NF-F12 PWM Focused Flow PWM Cooling Fan Quiet fans instead it seems!.

Thanks for the heads up.

Fantastic fans for a WC rig.You wont regret getting them.

Ok, all the parts I can get from OCUK ordered & a few from another website!, I'll do some pics for a log for my first loop.

Good call, I may grab a couple.

Quick question, will the EK Water Blocks EK-FC980 GTX Backplate - Black fit on the 980ti?, or does it have a different setup. From the pictures online they are identical on the sales page, but hard to tell. Very little info about compatibility.

No they won't. The Titan X back plates will fit the 980Ti but the PCB on the 980 is different :)

So, I've edited the built plan slightly

Any critique on this setup?, will mean switching around the front fans but this would mean all my radiators will be pushing hot air out of the case & I'll have 4 120m Nocturne intake fans.

I could on the other hand switch it all around, intake/exhaust - half & half - not sure at the moment.

Progress so far,

Trying to make the build as clean as possible, hose & screwdrivers on the way today (didn't have the right one for my GPU block installation).

The middle fan on the top radiator doesn't quiet fit due to the RAM/cables poking out a tiny bit further than I'd like - little matter as I've got a 200m & 140m fan on the other side pulling - the side radiator has 2 200m fans on the other side also - GPU block & pump installed.
