Greece Elections

imagine, if there was so much fuss in "saving" the 2% of the eurozone, what will happen if they were to save the 15% something like spain for example.

Euro is doomed, anyway. You cant have a successful monetary union without a unified fiscal policy. And after these ridiculous negotiations i highly doubt anybody would hand over its fiscal policy (ie sovereignty).

Why, why push down the throat 93 billion in a currency that doesnt work, even an average granddad realize this, in order to preserve the US of Europe? and what next, come back in 3 years and all over again. How on earth do they think they will raise so much taxes...

sometimes man i just want to leave this continent, so much ignorance

so, are they leaving or not? another greek poll for this deal? the new deal better or worse than the old deal that they said no to?

Don't know for sure yet. Waiting on Greek parliament to approve it and start passing new austerity measures into practice for new funding to be released. The new deal worse than the rejected one but then a certain amount of damage has been caused by rejecting the first deal and bringing the banking system to a near halt. Every time they cause another raft of private sector companies to fail they're just amplifying the problems, leaving a bigger proportion of public sector workers to be found funds to pay.

All this is just postponing the inevitable anyway and flushing good money after bad.

Greece is going to implode, and it is going to drag the rest of the PIGS with it.

If not today, then a little way down the line.

Victori spolia! Should have just quit the Euro imo.

they stuff you with loans, chop off every last bit of your manufacturing capacity, have an eye on your shipping business, double the vat on tourism (while everybody else keeps it at half price), encourage the media to portray everybody as lazy tax evading scum, on top of it moar loans so that banks abroad dont go bust.

Looks alright that, i cant believe a premier signed for this.

New deal much worse then old deal due to collapse of the economy. Ultra left wing party agrees to major reforms that are more Thatcherite then Marxist and their not leaving (yet).

To be fair i saw reports before these deal which said whether a deal got struck or not, your 4 main banks werent solvent anyway and they would have to merge with each other which obviously would mean the shutting of branches and the shedding of employees.

its got to pass parliament and if the tweets are true then the PM is as good as dead and it wont pass.

Greece will leave before Germany marches through athens - again.

1 rule - ALL laws must be approved by berlin - I mean brussels! the birthplace of democracy allowing another country to run them? not a chance.

so more free money...................

What happened to these big brass balls Tsipras was claiming to have regarding dealing with the EU ? I guess the sound of more free money is enough for him to sell out his country. He needs to grow his balls and quit the Eurozone, but I guess everyone likes free money so now he will dance with Merkels hand up his gary................

He's a very clever man, who went into politics for the right reasons, and stood by his principles to the end.

That he failed, doesn't make it any less admirable.

He is a good professor of economics, that doesnt make him a good minister of economy. Theory sometimes is worlds apart from reality.

Although how can we trust a lawyer rather a professional economist is debatable.
