Ok i am lazy, but roughly how much for a cleaner to come in once a week and hoover dust the house.

Anyone have experience of one ?

depends on where you live i guess.
here in brum, i pay £8 an hour, with a minimum of 2 hours for a cleaner that comes round every other week to do the cleaning. includes cleaning the kitchen/oven any dishes left over, bathroom etc

Treat them with respect and don't micromanage them and you'll get respect in return.

If you tidy up your junk first then they'll waste less of their time moving around it.

Avoid agency staff or you will be paying for a middleman too.

For our business flat in london, through an agency, we pay £11 an hour. 4 of which is agency, 7 to the cleaner. This is for 5 hours every other week, it costs more per hour the less you have.
Does not include products.

£10/hour for ours here in Gloucestershire.

We have her in for 1.5hrs a week to vacuum, clean the bathrooms, and mop the floors. And probably something else, but Mrs Cheesyboy arranged it all and I don't tend to notice things becoming clean.

I was recently quoted 70 for 3 hours. Where do i find 10 an hour cleaners?

Facebook. There's people advertising or asking for recommendations every week on our local group.

[Random aside: There are also people asking for recommendations on who can fix broken iphone screens every week as well, I seriously don't understand what the community must be doing to break so many phones]

Robot vacuum cleaner isn't a bad suggestion actually, they do work pretty well as long as you don't leave too much junk on the floor :)

I'm thinking of getting one of these for my new apartment. I pay my current cleaner £2.50 per hour and she cleans 2 hours per week, and does any washing up, but she's not very good to be honest - really clumsy around my computer stuff! I'd rather have someone who can do the laundry also.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

So your paying peanuts and expect someone to do a good job, plus now you also want your laundry done aswell lol, i would smash your pc up if you paid me that much just for the pleasure.

hehe those are her rates! She's Chinese!

Edit: That makes me sound racist - what I mean is, here in China the going rate for a local cleaner is what she charges!

Suggest paying her more and she might up her game if not get rid and find someone else.

If thats the going rate, it't totally fair, but why stick with a cleaner you arent happy with? My one will do washing etc if I ask/leave a note (normally want her to do other things first), or if I just leave some going then she will hang it al up to dry when its done without me asking etc.
