What is the RMA process for these cards? Is it a case of shipping it to Hong Kong if it dies? This is the only thing holding me back from purchasing one as otherwise it looks great.

Planning to replace my 780 SLI with this.

Unless a retailer has special arrangment for dealing with rma's then it's a case of sending back to HK for Palit

The customer makes the deal with the retailer so the law dictates the customer can process the RMA through the retailer as well. The retailer are within their rights to "recommend" dealing directly with the manufacturer for whatever, usually speed-related reason, but they cannot outright refuse from working as the middleman should the customer so wish.

So were my Palit to break down after lets say a year, my recourse would be to contact OC in the first instance, but their only obligation is to advise me to send it back to Hong Kong? Its disappointing not least as the Palit comes with only a 2 year warranty, before the process is taking into account.

I looked at the Zotac which comes with 5 years upon registration, but would seem to be valid only for the original purchaser, which makes it a much less attractive deal were you to intend on selling it on.

Perhaps I am concerned over nothing but given the price of the Palit card it offers little in the way of peace of mind IMO.

The retailer must handle the RMA requests on products they sell, they cannot demand you to send anything to Hong Kong.

Alternatively, you could consider purchasing from a retailer that issues replacement straight from the store-shelf. I can't see myself waiting for 4 weeks or whatever for my graphics card to make the tour around the world so it pays to shop wisely.

The Palit Jetstream for the 970 was horrific, after that experience I wouldn't touch it with a 10 barge poll. Cheap built quality including cheap fans. It felt like it was made by kids

This is incorrect, you have the option of dealing with ourselves or the manufacturer, your choice.

It says so in the law concerning retail trade in EU.

Is there any meaningful difference between this and the Zotac Amp! edition? I assume they will both clock similarly and it's going to mainly be down to asthetics, noise and warranty?
