Silicon lottery, as Gibbo has banged on about it many times. Just because you get 1600 doesn't mean another user will too. For example my EVGA does 1600/2050 on air and isn't an 8 Pack stamped GPU
What you should do though is get a number of the cards and see what a batch of them do rather than just one, if say 10 cards all do the same then yes, even I'd be interested![]()
But 8 Pack is absolutely correct, having the best PWM, best power limit all helps with those extra few MHz.
But of course silicon lottery has the biggest impact for people running on air within NVIDIA permitted voltage parameters.
For Water/LN2 users is where higher quality PWM and power limits can really be useful.
