There is? They all sound the same. Other than the Southern, thats quite distinctive.

Otherwise "american" just about covers it. People say theres a difference from Canadian but I can't hear that either.

I met an American chap on a train a few years back. Interesting fellow. He reckoned there were, basically, four US accents. I forget the distinctions, but I think it broke down into east coast (Noo Yoik etc), West coast (like, California), and then two others - probably "southern" and "central".
