BMW Keyed/Knifed

I would move the car. If they do the tyres or windscreen next it's only going to get more expensive...

In this day and age you really need in car cameras facing every direction recording your car 24/7.

This day and age?

What's happened to the OP is awful but lets not lose all sense of perspective, there is nothing 'these days' about it, this sort of thing has sadly always happened - at one stage car crime was so bad about 25 years ago almost nobody could afford to insure a hot hatchback. Car crime is actually lower now than at any point in living memory for most of us.

This sort of thing REALLY boils my ****.

You just cannot own anything nice these days :(

What happened to people having care and consideration to other people's property?

Yes and my point stands. You can't own anything nice these days (as in taken at current time - I said the same 20 years ago and I'll say it in 20 years) - it's just a turn of phrase.

Where was it to begin with is perhaps the more pertinent question.

Anytime i've had issues with my car it's been elderly people not giving a crap and on one occasion evening refusing to apologise for breaking my wing mirror cover off right in front of me. Suggests the attitude is nothing new or modern.

Just another of these things that you hear about more in the age of the internet, where you'll see keyed cars from your 'acquainted circle' of several hundred / thousand people rather than just your circle of direct friends 20 years ago.

Indeed - it's more visible now as more people are able talk about it, with the internet and so on it gets reported more so artificially skews us into believing that it happens more. Nonetheless, it doesn't stop it from being really upsetting.

Even just people opening their doors and clipping your car with it, no sense of care or consideration for other people's property.

Of course in this case it is pure vandalism.

Boils my **** that people can behave in such a disgusting way.

I've had mine scratched a number of times too, every 2-3 months a new scratch. It only stopped happening after i installed some cctv.

Seems a very deliberate act of vandalism. Some would run the key down one side whilst walking by. What has happened to your car seems a more deliberate and sustained act of vandalism, almost like they have it in for you....? You had any altercations with anyone of late? Split acrimoniously from a woman or anything?

Does anyone else normally park in that spot? When you do move it look out for anyone parking in that spot regularly.

No one in particular. Our road doesn't have much parking, however everyone does have driveways which can fit atleast 2 cars. There are two spaces at the top of the dead end road. 1 is always used by the closest house, and they certainly believe it's 'theirs'. The other is used normally by guests to them, or from a small block of flats the other end of the road.

I moved the car back to my driveway last night. No one has since parked in the space.

Certainly does. No, no altercations with anyone. That's why I expected to get a very low price offer for the car after it happened, someone intentionally doing damage to get a good deal. However, since that hasn't been the case, it can only be because someone is fed up of it being in that space.

A note of the windscreen was obviously too much trouble for them.
