I have had something similar a couple of years ago

I have my own house , gf lived with parents about 20-25 mins away

At the start she was happy enough to drive down to my place , then
we would go out have dinner , movies and stay in sometimes etc etc (usual relationship stuff)

BUT after a while (and I had asked her to move in by this point) , she started getting annoyed
about her having to drive to me all the time expense and effort, being logical I said I would help her out
with her fuel costs .... resounding NO

I then suggested tat I could pick her up sometimes and drop here back ...
Means I drive to her town , then drive us to mine .... then next day drive her home then return to my house
^Clearly a much more efficient solution no ?

The first time I did the pick her up thing all was well .... next time not so much

I grabbed her on sat tea time, brought her down and she stayed over Sat night.
Then due to her working on monday I dropped her home on sunday evening = an argument ...
what about , that fact that she could not stay over on sunday night as well !!!!!!!

Conclusion , bitches be crazy , cant win what ever you do

Dont see how that will work out for u in the long term, what happens when u guys go on a weekend get away? She will be the one driving every where all the time and it will get on her nerve if she see's driving as a hassle.

Cycling is great and very healthy but it doesn't cost much too run a car in all honesty. If u have to go some where like an hour away or even more u cant be getting buses and trains every where or relying on her to drive u all the time.

My advice is to get a car it will come in very handy in the future, if u have a kid as well it will be a nightmare not being able to drive.

I've been with my girlfriend since I was 14, I'm 23 now and we live 40 mins from one another. She doesn't have a car and so I almost always drive to hers, and I don't mind at all.

Things are changing soon as we're about to move in together but the point remains the same.

Might sound harsh but if she likes you that much then a 30 minute drive once a week is nothing especially if you're paying her petrol.

Either that or I'm just a sucker
