BBC licence fee could be means tested everyone pays regardless of whether or not they own a telev

Good reason to add a new one? Not really.

I pay £80 a month to the local council and all they door for me at the moment is collect my bins. I wouldn't want to pay another £15 a month on top for a tv service I don't use.

Yeah they do nothing for you except maintain the roads and pavements.

Oh and they keep the street lights on.

And they fund the fire and police services but you probably don't need those.

It's a good job that businesses always work in your best interests because otherwise you'd need someone to check that your pizza wasn't made in a pile of rat turd and make sure you didn't get ripped off with fake goods.

You can have a TV and not require a license, and these days with all the catch up, on demand and video streaming sites, it's not hard not to require a license.
Just watch TV programs about an hour after they are shown and save money.

I haven't seen a house yet that doesn't have an aerial cable hidden away or installed around the back of the house and hidden.

why would you take it down. there's no need to and could harm resale value. If people have to start running cables around.

I hate adverts, I love what the BBC deliver they are one of the few quality program producers in the UK much better than the trash thats on ITV and C5 these days.

Luther, Sherlock, Hustle, Dr Who, Top Gear, Torchwood, Masterchef, Horizon, Various news programs, BBC World Service and the odd documentaries. To add to this the various radio shows in particular I am a big fan of Radio 4 and the world service.

I currently do not pay a tv licence since I never watch live television, however I have in the past and I obviously make use of the BBC service. If it comes to paying am honestly happy to pay a paltry £20 a month or whatever it is for this service and I think one of the few small traditional British organisations we have is under threat.

Given what people indicated in the voting intentions poll I can't say I'm surprised, but personally I see the BBC, combining the infrastructure, content and innovation it provides as a national service. I can sympathise with the people who don't watch any TV and begrudge paying or don't pay, but the people who watch stuff on iplayer and do the same are taking the mick a bit. Those people are the primary reason for the current significant cuts to the BBC's funding, happily consuming the content and not paying for it.

Who wouldn't? Not really sure what you're getting at with these posts about hidden wires? Most people just hide them because it's ugly, ours is all internal

Cheats? The people that come knocking on the doors to see.

I love what the BBC deliver and am happy to consume its output yet because of legal loop hole created by the internet age I don't put anything towards it.
