In for repairs

I had a prolapse removed, all went went well, hurts like hell but will be worth the discomfort after it's healed.

Had lots of surgery before and this was not a big thing to have done at the side of the things I've had done before but I was totally petrified. Not for myself but for my kids, I'm all they have and that crushed me the past few weeks leading up the the surgery. Mentally knowing the risk was very very low but still scared to a really unreasonable level, for their sake in case anything happened. But all done now and just recuperating.

Thanks for the well wishes and good luck posts!

Low risk but still nasty. Glad you're still here!

Good luck with recovery. ;)

But one does wonder how does ones rectum becomes prolapsed??

I have seen this before in porn when they popping brains out there backside. But they train for that stuff. :D You just trying to hard in life...! :)

Go on op we all friends spill the beans! :p

Can I just warn people that if they are not experienced with rectal prolapses, just take Leons word for that it's horrible.

Do not google it as you wont be able to face food for at least a fortnight.

I was joking mate all banter! ;)

Good luck and drink plenty of Guinness to keep your stools lose! :p

I'm on some serious antibiotics atm, not even allowed to drive while taking them, believe me I could do with the refreshment but alcohol is out of the question. If I don't let these antibiotics do their job I could be in real trouble, surgery in that area is prone to infection which could turn very nasty very quickly.

I know you were not having a dig and it was just banter itchy :p

Depends on what antibiotics you on. ;)

Quote

"The advice that you shouldn't drink alcohol while taking antibiotics does hold true for a small group of anti-infective drugs including metronidazole (Flagyl, Metronide or Metrogyl), tinidazole (Fasigyn or Simplotan) and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim (Bactrim, Co-trimoxazole)"

If you not in that group drink on mate! :p

Metronidazole 400mg I have, no alcohol and no driving or operating machinery if they make you drowsy, these things do actually make me drowsy, that's serious antibiotics. I never knew before I read the information leaflet that antibiotics could make you drowsy, didn't really believe it, now I'm taking them, I know it's true.

Bad luck mate and yes some antibiotics can make you seriously drowsy and sick. :(

I only know because my missus mate is a nurse. ;)

My girlfriend is!

Which made for a strange phone-call to the ward, girlfriend going to pieces down the phone to the nurse taking care of me on the ward. She started crying down the phone saying she should be looking after me, to which the nurse told her I was in good hands and had come out of surgery in good order.
