Hitler* was widely respected as a great leader in the 1930's, particularly amongst the British aristocracy.

This neither surprises nor shocks me.

Everything that is felt about Hitler and the Nazi party today is felt in hindsight. It wouldn't have been a consideration back then.

There are no grounds for any criticism here.
