R9 390 - Gigabyte vs MSI vs ASUS

Personally id look at the msi or gigabyte. Both have great coolers, Asus is pretty expensive and their support isn't great tbh. Gigabyte have a very highly commended uk based warranty service.
 
I've heard with Gigabyte the after sales support is great on their gfx cards..
The ASUS looks cool too, why and how do you know the MSI runs cooler and quieter?
 
I've used cards with the twin frozr and windforce coolers, albeit NVIDIA models. Whilst both are excellent cooling solutions. My twin frozr cooled msi's have been that little bit quieter.
 
Why no mention of the Sapphire range?
I know there a bit pricey but my 290 cards are beautifully built and the 290x draws less power than most other 290's

The MSI card looks awesome as balls.

Regarding Fury X, the majority of cards didn't have the whinegate issue. It's the select few that did. People that didn't have it just don't bother posting videos of the issue. Just need to stock now to come in :)
 
Sure, Im still pre-ordered on the Sapphire FX. A webchat with ocuk this morning unfortunately couldn't confirm even unofficially when they were expecting stock in.

With regards to the 390s, I was interested in terms of overclockability, noise and temps, especially if crossfired.
 
2x 2/390/X is the best bang for your buck setup right now without a doubt imo. I run almost everything maxed out at 4K at 60 FPS. For less than the price of a single Fury X /980Ti, its great. Haven't had any crossfire problems, and any games that don't have crossfire profiles I have had work fine with the force enable option checked, although those titles tend to be old/undemanding enough that 2 cards aren't needed.
 
I've had a few days with my MSI 390 crossfire now, I can without doubt say they are amazing cards and the performance per buck is incredible. They look stunning in my case, they are really quiet even up around 80% fan speed and games and benchmarks at 1440p are very impressive. Achieving much better performance than a Fury X for less money, Freesync is brilliant and no coil whine or noise to deal with like the Fury X has. Temps of my cards are, 65c bottom card and about 75c top card.
 
My cards run kinda hot sadly, I tend to get around 80-85 on the top card and 75-80 on the bottom card in a demanding game. I use frame rate control so in anything that isn't incredibly demanding they are cool and quiet. I play at 4K, these 2 cards handle pretty much everything at max at 60 FPS, apart from the witcher 3 and the like, but even then turning down a single setting is enough.

I have a custom fan profile that ramps up to around 45-55% between 75-85c. It's not too bad, certainly audible, but not incredibly loud.
 
I don't know what they are like nowadays, but when I had an Asus with DCII it sucked. It was not that cool, and it was noisy. Not worth the money. Of course things may have changed, but reading reviews it doesn't look like it.

The Asus DCII is the worst AIB cooled Hawaii, its shocking.
