Who would you choose as an ISP for Fiber?

I'm moving out into our own home soon (excited!) and looking to get fiber, after reading lots of threads in this sub forums, I decided on Plusnet, but the only reason was their pricing plans.

I'm just thinking of going with BT now.

Opinions?

I'd rather the UK support from Plusnet.

BT are an absolute nightmare when being juggled through the foreign call centre. My mum (she's with BT) has had a line problem since February. Took over 15 phone calls to get an engineer out.

Really dont know what you are moaning about, they have been cheaper for awhile and this is just bringing them into line with many other ISPs?

As one who is currently trying to move from Sky to Plusnet. Compared to Sky Plusnet are very good. Sky has caused most of my issues with changing :(.

I hope that you know that BT have already increased their line rental price to £16.99/month which is what plusnet are increasing their line rental price to so you'll be paying more before the increase has gone in (and I think that PN is the last provider to increase their prices) on PN.

Stay where you are since BB prices aren't increasing and you'll be paying around what you'll be charged elsewhere after the increase has been implemented.

I just got fibre extra with plusnet coming from 8mb plusnet for 16.99 per month for 24months.

Sky refused to release my phone line until I got ofcom involved...I hate sky period ditched TV the lot.

The key is to pay your line rental in one go...I'm paying 12 quid something for the next 12 months.its a lot cheaper than paying monthly.

I guess with cashback and a new hub BT are more appealing as opposed to staying with Plusnet.

Line Rental Saver isn't as good as it was, you still save money but not as much these days.

Well, I require TV too, one of those recordable boxes, Sky prices are too high for me. I can't justify paying £30+ for the misses to watch TV.

Sorry if I'm missing something, but reading about I'm not seeing anything about price increases? Yes the line rental increases, however as far as I'm aware that's just inline with what everybody does (as dictated by BT)?

My change has been one **** up from the next. The main issue Sky held the line so my whole fibre order fell over. Now I have a new line and new number but there are now issues at my exchange which Openreach are trying to fix.

Hang in there...You will be free soon. Sky is the devil.

I've been with Plusnet for a while, they're worth being with just for their customer service. You don't realize just how much its worth until you need it.

Wrong avenue. Social media on companies always tends to be home country based, much better to get someone who isn't a complete muppet.

my contract with plusnet just finished for adsl, best deal me was fibre with Bt on infinity 1 for £10 per month on 12 month contract includes £50 sainsbury voucher and £105 from Topcashback. Now waiting for the 10th August so I can jump onto the semi fast lane!

Plusnet does a TV service with a YV+ box for £5/month (you have to pay delivery and activation charges for it, but the latter possibly depends on the length of the contract as I saw someone mention that the activation fee was waived if they took out a 2 year contract) for the base package with HD and kids packs costing a bit more.

It isn't that well advertised since I only found out about it through the plusnet community section, and you can only subscribe by phone.

I hope that you read the fine print since those cheap deals from BT might get you onto the broadband fast lane, but they only have a 20GB data allowance so you're still better off with plusnet since they have no limits even though they pushed the upload speed of their basic fibre package down to 2Mb/s.
