Name the best 29 inch ultra wide for gaming

hmm, it is 920 something but not ending with a "n", iirc it is something like BF??? However, mine looks the exact same as that except it is black.

920BM probably. Same as the 'N' with the addition of DVI. Horrible monitor. :p

Well ive ordered a monitor. I found the little brother to the 29um67 the so called 29um57. Butt ugly stand but has the same "gaming" features as its bigger brother with the exception of freesync which i cant use anyway. Cost me around 240-250 pounds so not bad and hopefully not filled with glow issues and backlight bleeding. Should be getting it today before 12.

Any experience with the um57? is it just a the same as um67 without freesync or does it lack more stuff?

Nice, be sure to post what you think and some pics :D

AFAIk, there is little to no difference really aside from freesync and 60 VS 75HZ so input lag and response times might be a bit higher than the um67 but since you are coming from the dell 34", you'll probably see an improvement on the um57 anyway.

Nope not that either :p

Just having a look at old pics of my setup and it is the 930BF, crap now a days but back when I got back, it was a beast :D Surprised it is still going though

Here is the pic, next to my 29um65

Well on first pass over the screen is pretty good.. Now bleed and such is non visible but it is daylight so we shall see when it gets darker.. Pixel response seems pretty darn good. I have a feeling that its the same panel as the um67 so i went ahead and tried to OC it and on first try got 75hz with no skipping. I havent tried higher but i dont need higher anyway. One match of BF4 Gun Master and none of the issues i had with the Dell are present on the LG 29um57 which is very good.. It feels snappy for an IPS monitor. If the bleed/glow is minimal then its a sure keeper and one hell of a bargain.

Great news! Hopefully bleed and severe ips glow is not present later on.

How are you finding the transition from 3440x1440 to 2560x1080?

I really wish more review sites would look at these 29" monitors.

Unfortunately I can't get any higher than 60hz without frame skipping on my um65

So fare the transition doesnt bother me the slightest.. When playing games like BF4 and similar shooters i actually feel like i have better overview of the situation due to the decrease in physical screen size and since the screen size is smaller it doesnt bother me the resolution has gone down..Text is still pretty sharp and the overall picture is very pleasing to look at. Its a more managable size now(the physical that is) and i dont think i'll ever buy another 34 inch again unless it has some sort of feature set i cannot get any other way. No dead/stuck pixels so fare either.. looking good for the moment

Yeah I can see your point and sort of think I would I think the same with a 34" 21.9 screen, certainly for the width anyway, I would love to have an extra 1-2" inches in height though.

How far back do you sit from the screen?

EDIT: Ditch the last i wrote here.. cleaned the panel with glass cleaning thingy and i dont see anything now. Picture time

Here is some shots of my LG 29um57. I think its doing a pretty good job for the money.
