Just found these on EVGA twitter:

Z170 Stinger:

Z170 FTW:

Z170 Classified:

And some technical info about them:
EVGA Z170 Motherboards

I am happy to see that they are all black and have nice features.
I am a bit dissapointed that FTW have only one x16 PCIe lane and rest is x8/x4/x1.
Anyway, I will be most likely getting a Stinger.
I am a fan of small builds ;)

Any opinions?

Thats the first ITX I've seen from Z170. MSI and Gigabyte haven't revealed any.

No mATX at all yet?

It's amazing how everywhere I see a z170 post/article on the web everyone in the comments are saying "No mATX boards?"

Hopefully they will make some that don't suck this year.

The CPU's supported by these boards do not have enough PCIe lanes to supply 2 16 way slots. The x16 way slot will only run at x8 if you use any other slots anyway.

A board could have a PCIe switch on it and cards would think they had x16 each, but in reality they would still only get x8 each when both in use.

If you want true 2 x16 you need x79 (sandy/ivybridge-e), x99 (Haswell/Doesnotexist-e) or whatever chipset skylake-e will support.

The orientation of that extra power socket at the bottom left corner of the two ATX boards is ridiculous. In a lot of cases that will be practically up against the psu and you would be unable to get a power lead in there. I know I couldn't in either of the two cases I have here.

Yeah well. I could do that on Z87 Classified, but I had a CaseLabs S8. Tighter cases wont be good for that.

I like MATX. It's all about the aesthetic, not wanting a big case, loosing some stuff from the board that you never really use (PCI connections etc.)
I do love the look of these all black boards and especially their IO covers. They are very non fussy boards and you get more choice on a colour scheme as they provide a blank canvas to work with.

so on one of the evga boards theer's only 1 pci slot spacing between the x16 and x8 ? that means you can only usea 2 slot cooler card and have no space between top and bottom cards ?

I agree, I'm pretty worried about the apparent lack of mATX z170 as I want to upgrade to one!

Some of the larger boards are going to offer more than one m.2 slot which is something I'm considering which my wallet doesn't like =)

Some people also use sound cards and capture cards and there are also those intel 750 PCIe NVME disk drives now. Assuming you are referring to PCIe and PCI when you mention PCI slots. I'm sure there are some people with legacy hardware that needs the older PCI slots still but for me having PCI on a mobo instantly puts me off. (Like the MSI Krait).
