Hi all,

I need a bit of advice, I've currently got the HTC One M7 which is a great phone but I'm using the Camera a lot these days and as you may know I'm having lots of issues in terms of purple/green tint, seems it's just this build of phone (M7).

I used to own the Nexus 4 before the HTC One M7, which was good but the sound volume when listening to music wasn't loud enough (you just have to google to find out).

So, I want a new phone under £300 and camera is priority here, I probably wouldn't be able to get the current generation types with this sort of money but Nexus 5, Samsung S4/5, iPhone 5S, HTC One M8 can be had.

What would you recommend? I wouldn't mind sticking with HTC so the M8, but does this still have issues with crap camera quality?

Maybe I should just pick up an iPhone 5S? They are both similar build size, which is a plus, Nexus and Samsung seem to be quite chunky/wider.

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

If you can stretch another £15, then Argooos have the mighty Sony Z3 for £315 right now, excellent camera by all accounts and excellent battery life too :)

High end Sony camera units are what you're after here. They are used in iPhones, Sony handsets (look for the 20MP units), high end Samsung units and a mish mash of other devices. Check out the table at the bottom of this URL for both reviews and scores for devices; http://connect.dpreview.com/post/7285707615/dpreview-recommends-best-smartphone-cameras

From this it's looking like both the Samsung S5 and iPhone 5S rank very strongly as per the scores. Some others may be high but the build of the phone looks very chunky like the Samsung Note ect..

Just reading the Moto X uses near enough camera to Nexus 6, might be one to consider.

I wouldn't mind getting the HTC One M8, decent enough phone and looks good but anyone know if the Camera on that phone is as bad as the M7? Overly disappointed with the Camera on the M7, big time, all sorts of issues.

I have an M8. Haven't used the M7, but I do find the M8 to be lacking quite a lot in the camera department. It's just completely unspectacular.

I'd probably go for a Z3 if I were getting a new phone, or maybe an S6 or Note 4 if I could stomach Touchwiz.

S6 if you want best camera, got the cash and want poor battery

Z3 if you want a decent camera and epic battery :)
