I cant find a car

Yeah I looked at them, all interesting petrol cars are rare and that's one good example of this, its like people walk into main dealer and order the quickest or slowest petrol car they offer, nobody seems to be interested in anything in between if the manufacturer even makes them at all

Vauxhall are far far away from any short list and Fiat I'm not sure about, I'll have a look

Thanks

I wouldn't be too quick in discounting the GTC, at least check some reviews first as they're pretty favorable. A friend has the cdti diesel and its a nice place to be inside - dab, parking sensors etc too.

I think the engine in the Fiat is similar to the one in the Alfa Guilietta albeit 140hb instead of 170.

Also just thought of the DS4 dsport. 1.6 @ 200hp. Nicely specced too.

Finally have you considered smaller?
Alfa Mito cloverleaf and DS3 dsport both ~150hp and you can get 5yr or newer for about 8k

Seems to be the case to a point. I like to window-shop cars and definiately want something quickish compared to my 1.6 golf (8-9 0-60 would do me) but not really thinking I can justify a out and out hot hatch.

An update for the thread and a thanks for the help.

I bought a 1.8 petrol 5 door Civic at the weekend, its a 2010 5 door in black in ES spec with panoramic roof and upgraded 17" wheels. Its a bit disappointing it doesn't have leather but that's the only thing it doesn't have, pipe and slippers will be supplied on collection

The main dealer gave me a decent trade in price on my car, more than double what others had offered over the phone so I was pleased with that

Its going to be strange owning a slower car, especially this Civic as I used to have a Type-R, my priorities have shifted and my commute has changed to being limited to 50 miles an hour on the so called "smart motorway" part of the M60, its drives nice though, nippier than I expected

I collect it tomorrow night all being well
