Leave your bags in a locker at the airport. You can go back later for them when it's time to check in at the hotel.

I wouldn't bother ringing. After all, such an opportunity to increase your post count by starting and engaging in a thread asking the internet, which is always right, will always set you straight.

On the day in question, they will be able to check you in an hour early. Two hours is too much - the cleaner will still be doing the rounds.

Never had a problem turning up anywhere early, leaving bags and go explore the place until you can check in.
