I am off to Sibiu, Romania very soon and i have a wad of Euros from another trip away i wish to change to RON.

Looking at blogs it seems best to change when there, but to stay away from the currency exchange booths and go direct to a bank.

Anyone agree/disagree? Anyone know Sibiu at all?

Ta!

Sit outside a supermarket saying "please" over and over. That will get you some change.

I just withdrew mine from ATMs when I was there.

I know my friend had trouble once when he tried to change Sterling at a bank, as they didn't want it! I think they said they had enough :D

^^ Or next to a cashpoint. Preferably a cashpoint next to a metro supermarket.

This. It's also what we did. By far the easiest. You won't need much as everything is so cheap and most hotels can be booked and paid for online/with card.

£50 for car hire for 5 days and about £4 for a bottle of wine in a restaurant at the top of a mountain.

Also, a slightly shameless plug... http://rightlost.com/travel/itinerary-romanian-roadtrip/
