auction site rage

update: Im really getting ****ed off with this now.

Postman , same one i gave parcel back to , chapped the door this morning and told me that I need to go to delivery office as they can't send it back as there is no return address on it. so after work I went and collected it. guy in delivery office said it should have been signed for when initially delivered, and then gave me parcel back. And told me wait to hear from ebay then if requested to send it back to the sender ive to take it back up with return address. wtf?

anyway I now have it back, while im still waiting for an answer back to my ebay dispute I opened.

I know some of you may not believe me or whatever but what can i do?

I took another photo of the CPU but a lot closer. and the ram that was in the parcel

to me it looks like its been clamped with something? I cant even make out what the processor was.

The marks on the envelope do not fully correspond with the marks on the processor, or suggest the level of force required to inflict that kind of damage. Especially the clamp mark on the lower right edge of the lid.

Either way if some muppet sent me a processor in a paper bag, I'd laugh in their face and have all my money back thanks.
Electrostatic damage brah

but, if it is listing 381333060845, it is weird. That seller has zero neutral & negative feedback and a history selling delicate bits (seems to be lots of china and some computer bits inc cpu and ram on the feedback page) - how can someone with 400+ feedback ship this in this condition?

Don't scammers sometimes purchase 100% accounts to scam a few items on before moving on to another?

There's absolutely no way that has been damaged that badly in transit.

compare a google image search for a 4670k to that heat-spreader - it's nothing similar. As others have said, ignoring the horrific damage, it's the wrong cpu.

just googled, your right, its completely different.

also dereksdontrun , This is what I thought when i first initially purchased it , they have good feedback etc and at 100%. Even I'm confused by it.

What i also find weird is when i initially made the purchase, they emailed me saying thank you etc and they will post it the next day and provide tracking details

2 days later no tracking details, so i messaged asking if they had got it posted, and they replied soon after stating post office had closed by time they got there, and they will post it the day after and provide details the same day.

next day still no details, then got an email later on that night after enquiring again saying they tried putting it on but it wouldn't work so they messaged me the tracking details instead.

so in my opinion during those 3 days they responded quite well and quickly .

however now after 2 messages regarding the dispute , and 2 days,
they haven't replied back once.

Sad thing is, royal mail wouldn't have knowledge on the differences between CPU casings so would just pay out based on whatever the seller claims the value is.

Luckily I haven't sold my little G3258 that I bought off a member on here few months back yet, so that will be getting put back into the system until this has been sorted.

also if ive opened a dispute via ebay, do I have to open one via paypal also or are they still both the same company?

Sometimes scammers use other ppl legit accounts to get money, it's obvious as the seller sold the same item a couple of days before.

Being a seller myself i would normally send out items within 24hrs in fully protective bubble wrap and incased so there's no damage. the problem is the buyer can never tell the difference. When iv'e sold items many buyers have said that they didn't buy the item as their account was hacked, so it's not impossible for a scammer to copy the same details and send a crappy CPU and reap the gains.

Your best option is to go directly to Paypal and raise a claim for item damaged, paypal offers this sort of protection because item is not as described. The Seller will get a strike against their account.

Secondly you need to add negative feedback against the seller and/or warn them if they dont sort it out then you will have no option. Negative feedback impacts the seller in a big way for reliability, but warns other buyers to think twice using them.

keep all your evidence and paypal may need this to investigate, as the seller has already failed using the correct packaging methods. This is a clear cut case and you will get a refund. i suggest you read everything on paypal / ebay refunds and damaged items.

straight from paypal 5 secs of searching

a13. Protection for Buyers
13.1 How am I protected if I have a problem with a purchase?

PayPal Buyer Protection is available for purchases you make both on eBay and off eBay:

Purchases made on eBay
For eligible items, protection is available for both items not received (INR) and significantly not as described (SNAD); and
Purchases made off eBay
For eligible items protection is available for INR only

Most important part

Buyer Protection

If an eligible item that you’ve bought online doesn’t arrive, or doesn’t match the seller’s description, our Buyer Protection will reimburse you for the full amount of the item plus postage and packaging costs. Buyer Protection covers all your online purchases, on eBay or on any other website, when you use PayPal.

For more information, see our User Agreement
Examples

You bought a book but got a DVD, you bought a new item but got something that was used, you purchased 3 items but only got 2, the item was damaged in transit, the item is missing major parts (that the seller didn’t disclose), or you purchased an authentic brand but got a knock-off instead. Tell us.

Ppl on the thread have said it's not the same CPU.

Personally would have just opened an ebay buyer dispute and let them deal with it. Hope you get it sorted OP. Can't stand ebay sometimes.

thank you,

I had a chat with someone from ebay on monday, Gave me a date etc of when I can ask them to step in and take over and that the money has been placed on hold.

It's now wednesday and the seller still hasn't responded so just have to sit and wait a bit longer
