bought a used processor off someone from a well known auction place , should see the mess that the parcel is in came today,

4 days late, and weirdly they sold the exact same thing to someone else a week before , exact same auction and description.

Im fuming and not sure what to do , I have contacted the seller and attached photos of the package to him, I also stated that Royal mail or postman has took the parcel back off me , I ran out to find him, and says hes gonna take it as item arrived unacceptable / damaged and is gonna send it back.

Should I also open a dispute ?

dont know how to shrink the pic sizes sorry

Images over 1,280 pixels wide should be placed in spoiler tags as I've done for you.

Cheers

Theres no way that was done in the post in my opinion. Shouldve just opened a dispute as now you have no proof you've returned it.

Was sellers address on the package?

lol im very confused is this a joke ?

Open a dispute. What on earth do you have to lose?

The guys obviously fiddling insurance claims or something..

The postman after I hunted him down, took the package back off me after agreeing that the contents were beyond mangled and will be recorded as damaged / refused.

Ive contacted the seller, and sent him photos . and also opening a dispute as we speak.

Yes it certainly looks like they are just sending broken stuff and claiming under Royal Mail insurance.

I would imagine it would be quite lucrative if the was a £500 cpu (when in reality it was a a £50 cpu.

Something isn't adding up here...

What's with the old arse RAM, CD case, and the blob of applied thermal paste in the middle of the cracked heat spreader that's intact?

Also, they took the parcel back off you?

they messaged me saying that they were adding some ram and thermal paste that they had lying around as well, ofcourse I thought they would at least package it with things not having contact with other items.

Yea royal mail or i should say the postman says he will mark it as unaccepted / refused due to the mess of it.

and the cd case i assume thats what the used as an alternative to bubble wrap?

If they've sent it tracked then you're probably okay, keep the tracking number.

What if they hadn't?

In future open the dispute, take photos and send it back yourself. Might be worth the hassle fighting for P&P later than losing your case altogether.

From experience. I managed to fight my money back though. Yay Barclaycard! :D

So why is the thermal paste on the heatspreader undisturbed? It should be smeared all over everything...

It's clearly been freshly applied in the photo...

The nature of the damage and the thermal paste do look strange.

If it wasn't sent tracked then it doesn't matter whether he kept the package or refused to accept it. The seeler still can't prove it was delivered.

If it was tracked then it will show as refused.

The buyer can't prove he has had it returned either (without an investigation through the post office) or that the seller had it back. No electric evidence of that either like there is now (because it is tracked).

I hope you are not saying the OP quickly opened the package, took the cpu out, put a dmaged one back in we a few other bits, bashed the packet and ran out and caught up with the postman? ;)

Although the bit I dont get with the story is this is clearly a signed for parcel, who in their right mind signs for it with the postman stood there and not notice the damage to outside of the parcel and if u didnt reject it there and then, at least say hold on a minute mate, ill just check this and open it up before signing?

Surely it doesnt matter. Seller cant proof it been delivered. Ergo buyer will get money refunded as none delivery.

forgot to say that he included a tube of thermal paste in the package also. I will attach a photo.

Is that CPU actually split down the middle?

Lol..

All CPUs should be posted in Gameboy cartridge cases :)

Either he is trolling you, or you are trolling us :o
