If you're running AMD on Windows 10 and Freesync suddenly stops working, check your windows update history. Mine just silently installed 15.2 over the top of 15.7. Went looking for it in the Windows update history and there it was.

The whole auto update thing is the biggest ** Swear words must be fully starred ** up shipping with win 10. I understand why they are doing it this way because average Joe and Jane cant figure out to click the pop ups reminding them of updating but it really scr*ws the rest of us enthusiasts over.. Thank god for 3rd party tools that put a stop to the nonsense.

Thanks for the tip... PC kept freezing on me... checked drivers... 15.2. Downloading 15.7 again now.

However, I still don't mind the auto-update, although having them installed at a time of my choosing would be more preferential.

Also.. a note. After reinstalling 15.7 on W10, it kept reverting to 15.2 :( I am currently having a freezing issue with both my O/S's so unable to diagnose, but I see comments about a 'run-once' registry reference not being updated.

Guys are you seriously saying that there is no "download updates but let me chose when to install" option for Windows 10?

If so I find that very odd.

Depends on the version, "Home" users (or whatever it is called now) are at the mercy of automatic updates.

doh; good thing I'll have pro :D hopefully it doesn't pull that crap

I've read that Pro and Enterprise have the ability to postpone updates, but I have not read anywhere if they'll retain the ability to choose them specifically like we do now.

I am in no hurry to leave W7 on my workstations, so I'll leave it for others to find out.

Yup, the autoupdate played havoc on my AMD drivers yesterday. Was getting screen crashes, blue screens and finally my resolution borked until I installed the AMD drivers again.

Edit:
I think the driver update through Windows failed half way through which was the cause of some of my issues.

Funny how I got laughed at about my stance towards forced auto updates by a good few people in the Windows 10 thread - now people can see why its not such a good thing :D
