Best fans for rads

Nope.
22dB at 1500rpm for the Noctua - 2.6mm/H2O.
35dB at 2350rpm for the Corsair SP - 3.1mm/H2O.

So the Corsair has higher performance, but is MUCH LOUDERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! ;)

The NF-F12 Industrial does 29dB at 2000rpm for 3.9mm/H2O.
Or you have the 3000rpm model which does 44dB but gives you a whopping 7.6mm/H2O!!

Manufacturers decibel level are junk.

Ive had 22Db fans which sound louder than 30 Db fans. Reviews with testing is the only way .

EK Varder are as quiet as the Noctua at the same rpm but the airflow through the radiator is vastly superior at the same rpm
Says who?
EK's own specs have the F4 fans giving 33dB at 2200rpm for 3.1mm/H2O.

Mfr's specs are a starting point, along with reviews that have testing, but they're all relative and can often bear no resemblance to the individuals' experiences.

So are the specs of anyone not using the exact same rig and testing kit as you, really. So many variables.

But were they actually louder, or did they just *sound* louder to you...?
I've had the same, mainly from Enermax and Corsair, so it's mostly still down to just trying them out in one's own particular setup.

Noctuas are still the best for my case and generally the Mfr's specs do work out to be fairly accurate for me.
Maybe I'm just lucky...? :D

A couple of Noctua NF-F12 heading my way tomorrow. The 2000rpm variants.
I'll be very interested in your findings!!

i usually have a gander on this youtube page, the guy does a lot of fan sound test, give good indication what the fan will be like.

Goign on this review with a sound meter.

http://thermalbench.com/2015/06/29/e...r-120mm-fan/3/

at the same rpm the EK varder have the same decibel but shirt 25% more air through a rad. Thats a lot.

But i agree with you. Meters dont tell the whole truth. two fans at the same decibel level, one may appear louder to a person than another.

Also depends what use they are been put to. SOme fans are fine until attached to a rad.

Shame he hasnt reviewed the Vartar :(

That noctua sounds okay to me to 7v. Thats the most id want in my pc.

Been looking into this a lot myself lately and the Vardar's seem pretty though to beat. What colour scheme are you employing in your rig that Vardar's will not fit but beige and brown Noctua's will? Or are you talking about the black industrial ones?

It's a black/red Parvum S2.0 build. And yes, I went for the industrial fans.

And that is why I always end up just trialling them for myself. My case will be vastly different to yours, his, hers, theirs' and every other.

I have a sound meter too, but that gives very different results to half the reviewers even in open air.

Retaining clips for a radiator?

I have not received any retaining clips with ANY fans I have bought. The only time I've received them was with something that needs the clips ie. Gpu heat sink.

No, I mean the little raised ridge on the connector... But it isn't the fan at fault, it's the splitter that doesn't catch the ridge properly... Using another splitter and all good now.

Ah ok. Well I would probably end up coming next if it wrong if it wasn't the same as what I am use to lol.

EDIT - omg what the hell was I trying to say there? I can't even make it out lol. Silly iPhone.
