Alex Salmond: A second Scottish referendum is inevitible

People seem to be overlooking Salmonds number 1 reason for another referendum - the lack of delivery of devo max style powers.

This is a major reason that many people voted No in the end. Brown came swanning in to sweet talk everyone, the party leaders crapped their pants and offered the world. Now they haven't delivered.

How that can be construed as the SNP throwing their toys out of the pram is mind-boggling. That reason alone is enough to have another referendum, without looking at the other reasons.

But so many trolls here, or actual bigots, just looking for the cynical angle wherever possible when it comes to Scotland's affairs.

You've been incorrectly equating a vote for the SNP to a vote for independence, not all of the people who vote for them want independence.

I also said a bit of a cult, particularly in the younger generation. They're certainly a viable political party but the blind support they receive and view they can do no wrong from some is where nationalism becomes dangerous.

The fact you have to try and belittle me to argue speaks wonders for your maturity.

We all knew this would happen. The 'once in a lifetime' referendum is only if the rebels won. Thankfully they never and I'm confident they never will.

Rule Britannia!

This is very true. We were promised home rule but what we are actually getting (we haven't actually gotten anything so far) is control over road signs and airport duty.

I have not been equating a vote for the SNP as a vote for Independence. If you had actually read my posts you would know that.

Rule Britannia!

Urrgghh. Makes my skin crawl.

except it isn't, the polls and the result were the same as 2 years before the referendum with no devo max ever announced.

the independence lot wanted independence not devo max so weren't swayed and the people who wanted to stay didn't care about devo max either so weren't swayed.

given the huge crash in oil prices it seems Scotland got very very lucky with the vote being no.

Oh and why is that?

Do well to read your own posts. And see how ridiculous and damaging what you say is. There is no place for nationalism in modern society. Look at any country with heavily nationalism and look how well it goes.

Eg." nothing will ever change my opinion"

Wow what a great well thought out stance, backed up with evidence.

You mean like the UK. rule britania and all that.

Uk has very low levels of nationalism compared to other countries, and yes most nationalism in England is just as bad and is why such parties and people are hated by the masses.
Out dated stupid "thinking" it's not even thinking as you can't be changed.

Alex Salmond if you haven't noticed is just an MP now. The "Alex Salmond want's independence so he can be king of the jocks" line doesn't really stack up anymore.

Of course it does, if another referendum came up in a couple of years do you not think he'd try his damnedest to take centre stage and style himself and the man who led Scotland to freedom?

All three of our house hold voted SNP but voted no to independence! And right we were. How is that Oil price working out for you Alex? It almost split Scotland and left a bad taste afterword’s. If they push for it again so soon I will never Vote SNP again for disregarding what we voted for! Just watch the Map go back to Labour or Conservatives (dread the thought) if they pursue this.
