When I looked up to check what it means the definition given was
"to accelerate sharply the speed of (an engine or the like)"

So the notions and what it means to say are the same. You have the meaning wrong.

All electric are still free. I was been a bit flippant. However the fact that a 50g of co2 car will now pay the same as a 500g of co2 car makes a bit of a mockery it was all about it been based on emissions and the fact there is now a new top band based on the cars value, not emissions as well.

And once everybody is buying electric cars then i am sure it will change again.

Holding someone up for 30 seconds is hardly impolite. I would go as far to say rushing past someone is more impolite then going past them at a slow speed. The polite thing to do is always approach slowly and pass slowly when possible.

That applies to the rider as well. A rider should slow down when approaching walkers, dogs and others.

Christ alive. Some people really don't deserve to hold a driving licence.

How you can possibly justify acting dangerously just because you're too selfish to share road space with any vehicle not as quick as you is beyond me :rolleyes:

It has also been said that most riders do not ride on the road through choice. They may be moving from one location to another via the road. How do you know if they feel bad for holding up the cars or not? I for one would feel very uncomfortable if I were generating a queue.
