What it attempts to mean and what it actually says are two separate notions, in case you weren't aware.

Can't you just admit you're wrong, would it kill you?

It's causing an inconvenience so yes. We're talking about drivers being considerate. Well I'm pointing out that through the very act of being on a road, horse riders are being inconsiderate.
That really is a ridiculous argument. Slower drivers, lorries, bikes, tractors, pedestrians are all inconsiderate?? You're the only one who should be allowed to go at the speed you choose when you want to??
Because manners, because safety, because they are allowed to use the road. Why should motorist do anything that slows them down or otherwise inconvenience them in any way?
Now I've answered your questions, answer mine, which I've asked multiple times. None of which you have tried to answer.
I have never heard of this before. I thought electric cars for example are tax free or are they now taxed? I guess I need to read up on the changes. Its not anymore though is it? Based on price of car going forward. Therefore an expensive horse worth £50,000 should pay £2,100 first year road tax?
When I looked up to check what it means the definition given wasWhat it attempts to mean and what it actually says are two separate notions, in case you weren't aware.

Those things are all hypocritical. Surely it's more polite not to hold people up? Safer not to ride on the road?

.
Holding someone up for 30 seconds is hardly impolite. I would go as far to say rushing past someone is more impolite then going past them at a slow speed. The polite thing to do is always approach slowly and pass slowly when possible. Those things are all hypocritical. Surely it's more polite not to hold people up? Safer not to ride on the road?
One reason Is because they are in front so have priority.
Jeez this is why psychological tests should be routine if you want to have a license
Isnt a trait of being a psychopath not caring about the effect your actions have on other people
Christ alive. Some people really don't deserve to hold a driving licence.
How you can possibly justify acting dangerously just because you're too selfish to share road space with any vehicle not as quick as you is beyond me![]()
You mean like the horse riders who are causing delays to many other people?
Where have i justified acting dangerously?
Shouldn't be "Pedantry. Pendantry Everywhere"?![]()
This thread has escalated rapidly... Oh and Gammawolf, you have been a cool chap in some other threads I've seen, why are you being so silly in this one..? You are coming across like a right pedantic plank. What the highway code states is absolutely fine and makes perfect sense!
Dis86, it seems like you are continuing the argument for the sake of it? It has already been said that it is all subjective. It has also been said that most riders do not ride on the road through choice. They may be moving from one location to another via the road. How do you know if they feel bad for holding up the cars or not? I for one would feel very uncomfortable if I were generating a queue.
Brilliant! And yes!![]()
Still not answering anyone's questions I see.
Everyone rides a horse through choice, not necessity in this country.
