Bin lorry crashes into shoppers in Glasgow: 6 feared dead

Such a sad thing, rip to those killed and my thoughts are with their families. Particularly at this time of the year where being with your family is foremost in all our minds.
 
Some of world war z was filmed in Glasgow city centre - George square iirc.

It's all a bit quiet about the driver and two passengers. I think there might still be something to come out....maybe an arrest when he regains consciousness or whatever?
 
God, just watched the news on the beeb - one woman watched both her parents and her daughter die... that is gutwrenching! :(

RIP to those lost and my thoughts to their loved ones.
 
It goes without saying this is a horrific tragedy, especially at this time time year.
I've been watching and waiting for news report releases about the driver and cab staff who were in there.
The lack of police press release can't help but make me suspect bad news about the what happened in that cab just prior to this :(
I hope I'm wrong :(

I know, I was shocked when I heard that, it is unimaginable. That poor woman. There is no recovering from that. Scarred for life. Its not fair. :(

As to the guys in the cab, I know logically pressing the brake would be the thing to do but I couldn't guarantee I'd be able to do it if I'd just seen the lorry run over poor pedestrians!

A co-worker of my girlfriends was there at the time and saw the woman who lost her parents and daughter. She was pretty shook up by it as were the kids she was with.

That's the understatement of the millennium! I can't begin to imagine the horror she's going through. :(

That is far from a conclusive statement about that specific incident

The FAI has heard evidence that he was reported to the bus company by a passenger for passing out and they then found him in the bus and had to call an ambulance.

There's been other instances mentioned going back 20 years.

If anything comes out of this, it'll be tightening up notification of health issues with the DVLA and companies.
