National Insurance 'card'?

I snapped mine de icing the car one day, still don't no the number so each time i have to dig out a payslip.

Ah didn't realise they had phased them out. I guess it was costing them to keep replacing them from all you lot who keep losing them

I've got mine, looks brand new as I think i've only used it once.

Yeah got mine in my wallet. It's red and light blue with "numbercard" as part of the text (note numbercard is 1 word). Parents hung onto it, then handed it to me when I left home in 1998.

Been self employed since 1976..................................so have always had an accountant and no need to know my NI number.................................................................until last week when re-insuring my car (need it with your driving licence number for the DVLA check). Now for some of you young wipper snappers..................that's before computers, and certainly before any government departments had any. Anyway i had no idea what mine was..............................good job my accountant did though lol.

I have the fragments of an NI card, somewhere. I got it when I was 16. I know the number by heart (stupid saying), if I ever need it.

I have it ........scanned and saved in my inbox. I have been asked by agencies in the past as proof to work in UK, majority ask for numbers but one or two have asked to see the card.

I just memorised my number.

I have mine knocking around somewhere but usually when I need it, it involves lots of random searching of emails to try and find somewhere where I've used it previously! My wife has memorised hers, for some reason I haven't been able to do so with mine.

I've got one but I've never had to use it. I just memorise my number instead.

Mine was lost somewhere in the picturesque town of Benodorm around 13 years ago - I hope it found a good home along with my Solo card and provisional

I got one about 10 years ago, no idea where it is. no idea what my national insurance number is either

On every pay slip anyway these days, never been asked to take one to an interview since I was 16!

Probably because most people need theirs only when they change jobs, once every few years!
