I like the Flying Spaghetti Monster interior door.

May his noodly appendages bless your home.

Damit man! Now I'll never be able to unsee this!

It's funny that you English guys see it as fast - still seems to go at snails pace and definitely doesn't help that the banks and solicitors seem to manage to make everything more complicated and find any excuse for unnecessary delay.

Well we are seriously looking at moving up there, just accepted an offer on a house here this morning. Already had two offers fall apart when the buyers chains collapsed so the Scottish method looks a lot better.
See a house, make an offer (no mortgage) and be in within 6 weeks or so works for me!

Well done on buying a house, very jealous.

I think i would take out the middle wall though on the bottom floor and remove the chimney from the bedroom. Been watching too much property brothers. Also I would add some french doors to the back bedroom and convert it in to a lounge/entertainment area rather than a bedroom.

Haha, love that other people do this as well - make plans well before it's a priority :)

Unfortunately the plans are the worst plans I've ever seen. That chimney on the plan isn't even actually there...

It looks more like this (still highly inaccurate)

I also think that would maybe be just a little too open plan for us :)

We're thinking something more like this and extending the current outcrop at the back and turning it into more of a sunroom off a larger kitchen that we move to where the dining room was.
