Hi all,

I don't normally do this but our work are trying to help a charity reach 10,000 signatures for their cause.

They basically want to improve the service that anyone that currently or may end up in a wheelchair receive and are asking for 10,000 signatures of their charter.

They currently have 1669 signatures so are a little short.

You can read more about the charter here:
http://www.rightwheelchair.org.uk/index.php/areas-of-work/the-charter

And you can sign here:
http://www.rightwheelchair.org.uk/index.php/areas-of-work/the-charter

I know it may not effect many people here but I know we have some wheel chair users on the site, and none of us know what the future holds. If I ever needed on it would be nice to know I wouldn't have to face long delays, poor quality chairs and services.

If you could keep this bumped on the forum as well as maybe popping on twitter saying you've signed, tagging @VIRltd, @rightwheelchair and #MyWheelchair it would help raise awareness!

Thanks everyone :)

Thanks :)

what do the signatures do?

is this like a petition?

It's more about showing support for the cause.

A case of people saying, actually, we care about this. They will use the volume of sigs to show wheelchair providers etc that something needs to be done about some of the standards. It is going to give more weight to their argument.

Thanks :)

it seems targeted at the nhs and their (rather poor sounding) perscrption method, not wheelchair providers?

I'm dubious of that claim 2% of the population are in wheelchairs. If that includes mobility scooters for the fat or lazy, then I'm out. Otherwise it does seem wheelchair provisions need improved.

they can use the sigs to get the wheel chair providers on side to then approach the NHS. without public and supplier backing you stand little change of making a big enough change, at least that is what the general feeling is about it :)
