I thought they weren't allowed to repair cars with a twisted chassis, even if they could, due to safety regs?

No, you can repair pretty much anything, as far as I'm aware. It's only the value (or inherent lack thereof) that stops cars so extensively damaged being restored at the cost of the insurer.

Remember Rowan Atkinson did huge amounts of damage to his Mclaren F1 when he crashed it (twice), insurance sent it to Mclaren to be rebuilt, still sold for 12mil or something stupid?

its an Aston Marin DB5.

there isn't exactly that many of them for sale. If you put it up for auction, it will still sell if its been properly repaired.

I know that, but I'm saying I personally wouldn't be able to enjoy it the same way again. I suppose it's the same with people who get their stolen cars back and then immediately sell them because they just don't feel right keeping it anymore.

Went up to Lepsons today to collect my wheels and new tyres after an impromptu meeting with a tree root sticking out from a verge, saw an M4 in Valencia Orange (at least I think it's VO).

There was also an E46 M3 CSL (had the ducktail in any case). When I dropped the wheels off, KDS detailing were working on an Aston Martin DBS, but for some reason I didn't take pictures of those.
