A45 AMG Test Drive - First Impressions

Quite a few cars these days seem to have shocking interiors, a shame really.

Judging from those pics I prefer the Golf R interior but everyone has an opinion. Which car would I pick? The A45 AMG of course ;)

One thing I cannot stand on the A45 AMG is that damned ipad screen, why couldn't they have come up with a more elegant solution a la RS3 which comes out of the dash then folds back when the car is turned off.

But dis-regarding the ipad screen, I do like the A45 interior quite a lot.
 
from my own experience in the R and testing the A45, the interior in the R is too a high standard with initial kit, a lot which you pay for as extra in the A45 and S3. Seating position wise i felt the pedals in the A45 were slightly offset making you sit at angle and never got comfortable, where as in the Golf it is much nicer cabin
 
Well I test drove it today

It's a weapon that's for sure. The power delivery initially feels a little lumpy but it absolutely tears away once it's in 3rd gear.

I'll probably write more after a think. I am going to put £1000 deposit down to book a chassis slot as they are getting a lot of orders for the car. I think it will probably end up being the direction I go but I want to try some other cars at least.

Contemplating the Matt grey colour despite the cost.

It's extremely easy to drive. It seems as happy pottering around town as it does going flat out.
