Hyperwalk - omg why?

Bloke in my office has one. Great fun on smooth and flat surfaces, but you have to get on and off without tilting the foot already/still on the thing or you end up in a heap as it spins round on you.

The thing weighs 20kg so you wouldn't want to have to carry it very far..

So it's a small Segway without a handle :p? If it balances anywhere near as well as a Segway you'll have a hard time falling off it. I'm not sure how they'd govern it though in terms of letting you ride it on the pavement etc though.

I think it looks good but no very practical. Very heavy to carry around from the looks of it and it wouldn't work well for anything outside of going to the shop. Couldn't work on oxford street as too many people and not robust enough for long distances eg 10+ miles. It would work along a beach front but then what's the point if you not getting exercise. Still want to try it though.

ONLY 10kgs but point taken

Seen a couple of them.

Saw a video of some guy who does YT vids that uses them. I guess on the streets of NYC is much easier than the hills of Bristol.

Don't see the point, looks like pretty pointless in a city, don't see who their market is other than the quick-to-forget-move-on youth market + moron market.

Saw a shop assistant in Shelfridges in London on one of these about 6 months ago. He was wizzing about and would move away every time I got close to him, he obviously was having so much fun that he didn't want anyone else to have a go. ****
