Certainly in a relatively clear cut case selling second hand belongings of your own is not likely to be deemed trading even if you had a lot of transactions. However if you purchased items for selling on even if it was only a few that could be held be trading (but still might not due to infrequency of the act).

I guess my point here is that it is somewhat open to interpretation whether something is trading which basically then gets income assessed as self-employment income. But you can probably do a few odd jobs for friends / neighbours etc such as cutting the grass and not have to declare it as income if they pay you money as thanks.

Nope you have to declare income. be it £1 or £100,000

Its all to do with intent.
There is nothing wrong in selling your own stuff on ebay and not declaring it.

But the issue is if I buy 20 cars register them in my name and then sell them that is not ok. I never intended to keep those cars. I bought them with the intention of selling them hence trading.
 
If he sets up fake facebook accounts to leave negative feedback. Isn't that pretty obvious as the account will have no personal history and also you'll know its not a customer. You can just reply that you've never done business with them.

Have people not realised that you can't trust most of the feedback on sites as so much of it is manipulated.

If you are in say we all spam the shot out of the other guy with bad reviews :p
