Huddy on Gameworks round 3

It really is insane when you look at the amount of tessellation going on where it really shouldn't be. The only other possibility is sheer incompetence and I really don't think that's likely.

It does seem unlikely. Hopefully if AMD cards can match Nvidia's Tess performance in the future it will make it pointless, (Isn't Fiji a much better Tesser than previous AMD chips?

The thread is 5 hours old and its only up to page 2. Members of OCUK and turning in a bunch of slackers!

I think most people stopped caring what some bitter old fool has to say. No doubt this latest outburst will have to be retracted for 'mis speaking' or some such.

A present for Mr Huddy :-

I've heard people say that and I've heard people say it's still low in comparison to Nvidia. I imagine it's higher than before just given the size of the chip, pretty sure this chip was meant to be made on 16nm and we all know how these shrinks are going these days. I expect things are going to slow down tremendously where product shrinks are concerned, chip designers/makers are going to have to focus more on other areas pretty soon.

The thing about the over tessellation is that it's costing us more in other areas due to the retail space it's taking up or it's costing the end user more financially to get the experience they desire, few ways of looking at it really.

This really comes across as bitter and desperate. Why do AMD employee's feel the need to attack something instead of driving forward their own tech. Quite sad really.

Of course they'll attack NVIDIA when Gameworks drastically lowers the performance of their GPU's, on purpose.

AMD can't really release their own version of gameworks, as NVIDIA has 75%+ of the market share - no developer is going to release closed source AMD features, that rape NVIDIA performance, when NVIDIA has a huge market majority.

Obviously it's the NVIDIA users in this thread and others who'll flock to their beloved GPU vendor and defend them, no matter what.

Just remember that you guys will be part of the reason why NVIDIA will be the sole GPU vendor in the future, and will charge £1000 for each top end GPU, giving 5% more performance, while crippling the previous generation GPU performance via driver updates, all in the name of $$$.

So me buying let's say a reference 980ti over a fury x for 1920x1200 res gaming because it offers better performance for the same price is wrong and I should buy the lesser performer at said res.

As much as Richard tries to blame the competition I believe amd should only blame themselves.

For 1080P, I'd argue that either card is complete overkill and a rather foolish purchase.

1440P should be the minimum resolution to go along with cards of this calibre - otherwise it's just like putting $10000 tyres on a MK1 Renault Clio.

Quite true actually, As horrible as it seems I can see Nvidia being the only GPU manufacturer in the future.

AMD need a card out at the same time as Nvidia release their top card that literally blasts it off it's feet, Not matches it but tramples it to death then goes back the next day and takes a pee on it.

AMD need a solid winner if they are to succeed.

This again, as soon as AMD start struggling they wheel out the coughing liar. AMD need to focus on their own game and get some stock of the fury X out so we can purchase not at the gouged price!

P.s. I thought you can turn off gameworks effects so you are not forced to use them.

Plus with the added effects, they will implement them in different and more efficient ways on consoles.

So,unless you spend a decent amount on a graphics card,a console gamer ends up enjoying the added effects whereas the vast majority of PC gamers, will end up having to turn them off due to the massive performance hit.

But OFC,companies like Nvidia and AMD are businesses so they need to make a case for selling their highend cards anyway, and they want people to upgrade as soon as possible - a bit like with phones and tablets TBH.

Sadly, unlike in the past the large generational performance jumps are not there,so the inefficiencies of the PC as a platform are being exposed more and more.

Its a good thing DX12 and Vulkan are arriving TBH,as the PC is capable of much more in regards to the technical aspects of games - it just needs games to use the available resources better!! Not an easy task no doubt.

So not only Nvidia is bad but now anyone that has a different point of view than what AMD's hubby say's is now also bad and causing AMD's demise?

Really if AMD want market share then they need a products to get that marketshare and if they cant its there isnt anyone else to blame but themselves

The 10,000 people who bought a 980ti for 1080p would disagree, also the 10 people who bought a fury x for 1080p ( before stock ran out )would also disagree.
