Hi all

My Toyota Auris has Bluetooth which I use to connect my iPhone 6 to play music. However, when I take a call in the car, the sound for the call doesn't come through the car speakers and I have to turn the phones speakerphone on and strain to hear it. Does anyone know how to get the call sound to come over Bluetooth too? Never had a car with Bluetooth before!

Many thanks

M.

Bluetooth has many different functions, each being standarised in different 'profiles':

A2DP - Streaming stereo music (which you're doing)
HFP - Hands-free profile (Phonecalls)

I'm assuming your Auris doesn't have the hands-free option from when it was built, hence why you're seeing this 'issue'. When you first connected to your phone it would've checked with the Auris what profiles it supported. It does seem strange that you have A2DP but not HFP, it's usually the othe way around.

Well the car does have steering wheel controls to answer and hang up calls so I presume it does have it. Time to delve into the handbook me thinks to see if I can work it out.

It may sound strange but each function may have separate volume settings, I found this out on the new work van, the volume was set to zero on the audio system for calls by default.

Not necessarily true - my MINI Cooper has the multi-function steering wheel with the call and voice command button but wasn't spec' with Bluetooth from factory.

Did you manage to solve the problem?

Do you have a media button, where you access SD card and other. Leave on this setting and you will hear bluetooth Audio if paired with car
