Why are there no hard Pokemon games?

Or even interesting ones anymore...

Omega/Alpha really let me down, with so many new mega evolutions and whatnot I though we'd see more trainers with them and hoped it would be a little more difficult as it's a remake but nothing, just like X/Y it was a joke in terms of difficulty.

Why can't the ace trainers have random megas, or dragon tamers rocking mega Garchomp/Salamence etc... and why are the levels so poorly scaled? By the very end of the game the highest you see is lv70! They should have ramped up the scaling of trainer pokemon though the game so that the E4 champ had a lv100, that would force you to actually train your pokemon and give them utility moves rather than facerolling the entire game with damage attacks.

Volt White/Blaze Black are the only good Pokemon games imo, anyone else annoyed at how outside of online battling there is no challenge at all in Pokegames? Even 'challenge mode' in Black/White was a joke! Also speaking of Volt/Blaze the AI had been tweaked in those mods and they were brutal, they battled like players. No more leer spamming and no rubbish movepools. You could run into trained pokemon pre lv20 rocking flamethrower etc, I have no idea why GF dumb the base games down so much, the AI is truly awful.

Don't like the Pokemon games before Diamond/Pearl anymore. Physical/Special split they introduced in D/P ruined the older games.

Really recommend PokeMMO though to those who want a game like it, it's brilliant.

Nothing will ever be as good as Blue/Red or Crystal/Gold to me!

Oh those were the days!

I've still got my full party of lv 100 on Red. Still worked when I tried it the other day :D. I was actually after a serial cable etc. to back up my saves so I can preserve my ultimate party forever, but it's a right pain for the original colour :(

Do the battle tower thing. 2v2 or 3v3 think i got to like 45 battles with my ev trained iv bred pokes.

Or get on smogon amd arrange some battles or random battle online. That's what i do for a challenge! But yes the meta is pretty easy!

I'm talking about the storyline, from a lv5 starter to the Elite 4 and aftergame content, it's crap. Always the same tropes in the first few routes, Gym leaders rarely have evolved Pokemon and you never see Megas. They should remake red/blue on the X/Y engine and go ham, give Brock a Steelix, Golem and Ninetails and same for the rest of the gym leaders. Make it so by the time you hit the Elite 4 your team is level 100 and that wild pokemon are much higher than normal games. The 'curves' of all the existing Pokemon games suck.

You are right of course. The way i always played the game was to start off and then when you can poke trade in some pokes throw in a shiny bagon or tyranitar or something I've bred at lvl 1 in another game abd just enjoy the ride.

The issue is the game is basically for 8-10 years olds but is in fact one of the best and most tactical rpgs in its infinite depth and struggles to balance the two.

That's why i started playing online where i found out im terribad at pokemon and sought to improve myself.

Salamence forever!

plus i have all the latest ones so i don't think my commitment to the series can be doubted lol!

Which is why I've started playing each game 3 times and going for the full Pokedex. I've also found competitive breeding to be a timesink, but since I don't play online, it's kinda pointless. Unless I use them on subsequent play-throughs in which case they wreck every thing and become overlevelled due to not having the original trainer. I'd love a Pokemon Stadium type game on WiiU. Pokemon Stadium was capable of being challenging back in the day. It was all about strategy since everyone was at the same levels. That reminds me, the battle frontier and similar modes in the newer Pokemon games are the challenge you might be looking for. But not during the main game I'm afraid.
