EU pays jobless migrants to come to Britain

He hasn't read his own article again, pointless saying anything

Quote
"British businesses that employ people through the scheme can claim up to €1,060 in training and language allowances. In total, it means a single jobseeker could, in theory, cost the taxpayer more than €5,000 in handouts."

Should the EU not be helping us subsidise the cost?

The EU work scheme contains a generous programme of grants and reimbursements to encourage people to move.

At no point anywhere in that article does it say Britain pays for it out of out own pocket, bet you its already paid for by the EU.

e: yep, as expected the whole scheme is paid for by the EU anyway.

clickbait thread yet again

The average cost per head of the scheme was €1,818, according to official figures.

Under €2000 on average total cost per person to administer the scheme, relocate people, and provide a cash incentive to businesses with vacancies sounds like a bit of a bargain to me.

since 2012, thats ~1 day have got a job, id be interested to know how much this scheme costs the tax payer per day

Don't forget to divide the figure by 28 too as its funded by the whole EU

Just to put it into perspective, reading and researching these links and trying to correct the misinformation has cost the UK taxpayer about £100 this week so far as I should have been working, hows them apples...

It's almost like it's a non story. Matthew Holehouse looks about 12, I suspect he's trying to catch the eye of the higher-ups.

I agree, it seems like a desperate attempt to provide a different analysis of the migrants crisis at Calais when there isn't anything else.

why if they were refused ? Shouldn't they get a ticket back to wherever they came from

Because they get umpteen appeals until their application is approved/time runs out and they get default leave to remain... or something, probably.
