**AORUS X5 -Coming Soon**

Yeah i hear ya, tbh i picked that picture out of the ones i took since it looks closest to how it looks in real life. Taken from other angles it looks shocking with IPS glow added into the mix. That picture is about as accurate as i can do for a forum post. When watching Netflix its noticeable across the image, so its not just something you see in a darkened room with a black screen.

I guess the risk is that if they all have this issue then a replacement or repair might not get me anywhere. I've used Macbook pro's mainly for the past few years so don't have a lot to compare it to. Though i'm not really using the laptop at the moment so if its gonna go back then now's a good time for me to do it..

Can anyone from gigabyte comment on this ?

As another member of this thread pointed out, its hard to be accurate using a camera. Either the issue becomes exaggerated or doesn't show at all. I've tried to only include images that are representative of how it genuinely looks.

It does feel a bit pedantic reporting this, but if it can be resolved then it would be good to get it done before i start using the laptop more regularly, especially if the issue can become worse over time.

Hi gary,

We strive to provide the best quality we can, so its not pedantic to report something if you feel it isn't right.

All of our AORUS products are checked and the panels examined before they leave the factory. Unfortunately, we have to "expect" some screen bleed because if we set a goal of zero screen bleed, only about 20% of the panels would meet this criteria and we would simply have to throw away the other 80%, which wouldn't be a very financially viable route for us to take.

There has been a variety of screen brands tested by us @ AORUS HQ, and ALL show the same result and quality, so this is something that we have to accept within the industry, and set our "acceptable tolerance" level, and build to this level.

We do have some links from other web-sites showing the same issue on competitors products, but we are not sure if we are able to post here - we will check.

The images you have sent, have been looked at by our team, and do seem to be what we would consider to be "within tolerance" - and certainly from the images we have viewed this morning, as a comparison, they look a lot better (if you know what we mean)

However, that said, if YOU feel that it isn't acceptable, we are happy for this unit to come back to OcUK and we will exchange for a new one.

Hi,

Had a few guys in the office take a look at it and to be honest it does look worse than the pictures show. Its visible when watching video and playing games so its pretty distracting and does put a bit of a downer on it for me, esp since its not a cheap piece of hardware.


Whats the process to have it exchanged ?

Hi there

I am the RMA manager at OcUK and looking at the pictures it seems definitely it is within tolerances being perfectly honest with you.

That would be No Fault Found if it came back for testing.

Hi wonder if anyone can help, I have been onto aorus support about this problem but its taking ages for a reply and when did get a reply I simply got install the game on the ssd....

The problem is that for some reason CSGO runs like dog poop quite frankly. I don't know what it is no matter if its 3k 1080p, gsync on/off graphics low and high the game just looks laggy and jittery. Ok its tolerable to a degree but trying to play a competitive game is just a horrible experience. For a laptop with such power I would have thought it could run it easily. It runs at a stable 230+ fps or 60 on gsync no bother. But there is something just not right about it just feels sluggish and laggy looking. Gtav runs great and smooth so do other games...so I don't know if its something that's not optimised with CSGO yet...

I'm not sure what I can do to solve this , any suggestions would be awesome. Sorry if this message is jumbled as typing on a phone :D

Disable one GPU and see what happens.
