OK few questions

A: which is the best Z170 motherboard to get for gaming?

B: what is the difference between the gigabyte board pricing one being £300+
and then the other being around £170?
and if i go down the sub £250 price range or below will it bottleneck the gpu's
or cpu ?

The motherboard is unlikely to bottleneck either the CPU or GPU, it's just that the cheaper boards have less features and in some cases lower quality components. If you're planning on overclocking, it's a good idea to get a more expensive board which has good overclocking features and power phases.

If you just wanna game with no overclocking then any would be fine.

Power phases don't matter anymore you'll get just as stable an overclock on the cheap boards vs expensive.

The voltage regulator is back off the cpu, so the board now controls it all again like the Sandybridge days, so board power phases will play a part again.

I stand corrected need to update my knowledge on skylake.
