Npower = set of clowns.

I used to take calls from npower door to door sales reps when I worked at a call center. Put me off ever using that company. They are more expensive than other suppliers after the first year, their tarrifs and marketing in general seem to target the beer swilling fitbaw pub goer types. Nobody in that call center had anything positive to say about the company :eek:

My job was to ensure the sales rep wasent conning old or vulnerable people and that the customer was okay with the sale. Dunno if thats a common thing for door to door sales or exclusive to npower.

Had no issues with SSE though, or Scottish Power who im currently with.

Another vote for EDF.

Been with them a few years now after being with Scottish Power and Npower, both of whom I wish never to darken my door again.

I was on Npower when I bought my house but they were idiots - gave me free gas/electric for first 6 months during cockup but then they tried to charge me all of previous tenants debts to so I went to Eon who were cool. With Scottish Power now who also seem ok.

They are the worst. Still not resolution to my account woes from 2.5 years ago when moved into this property. I have to pay by standing order because they cannot create a direct debit. My complaint is still open with no resolution. they closed my account and created a new one without telling me. They cancel my "payment plan" without telling me.

At least this year they finally stopped the threatening letters saying I owe them money. Although I did get one yesterday saying I was £80 behind on my payment plan. Which is weird considering I pay more per month than they say my payment plan is (and is stated on said letter).

You used £95 of gas in June last year, but we are billing you a year later...no its electric, £95 of electric...no gas...nope definitely electric..did we say electric ? soz meant gas. Its £16..no nothing..you owe us nothing. We are taking you to court. We aren't. You are an Eon customer.

RESULT!

I had to fight them off for 2 years - the story is not that interesting but its similar to yours and around 1 million other dissatisfied energy consumers in the UK. I complained about having been charged for the previous tenants debt and the 'girl' on the phone said "Why don't you just pay it as it's not that much anyway..." to which I replied "Why don't YOU pay it then". I'm deadly serious and honest - this actually happend to me. I decided that from that moment forward that I would NOT pay the £5.15 even if it meant going to court... thank god it didn't.....

I got 250 in compensation from power when I went through ombudsman.

The worst company I've ever dealt with by far. Went with Ovo, haven't looked back

Anything 12 months late billing you dont have to pay by law.

Hmmm, tempted to swap to ovo from npower.
I just want to pay say 60 a month for dual fuel.
For some reason the do 40 for 6 months then 95 for 6 months. Doesn't matter how much I argue, they are so dumb.

How long does swapping take these days?
