Got a NIP through the post today. 35 in a 30 :( A van got me.

I'll probably get a SAC for that but still.... I'll probably take the points as 2 days of not working will cost me more than 3 points on my currently clean license.

It's a fair cop but doesn't stop it stinging.

You're not fit to call yourself a Don!

Come back when you've finished pulling children out of your grill and unicorns out of your wheel arches!

It does suck though, it's something about the sneakiness of a van. How exactly do they improve safety when you don't know they're there?

The SAC is 1 day, not 2. I'd take that instead of the points - you never know what might happen in future so it's always best to keep a clean licence if you can.

They don't improve safety by being there. They improve safety by trying to discourage people from speeding. The way to do this is when people don't know where and when they'll be.

The SAC is only 4 hours, they would have to provide 'refreshments' otherwise, but that is probably a day off work, depending in time of day.

Andi.

I only had half a day off but in the end they didn't even take it out of my holiday allowance or anything, just let me go for the afternoon :p

My SAC started at 5pm and we were out by 8:30pm. Amazingly they offered them in the local village hall which is a 5 minute walk away.

Yh definitely take the SAC. I got my first and hopefully last points two years ago when caught doing 87 in a 70 which was 1mph over Surrey police sac threshold. Been paying for it on my premiums ever since.
