Doorbell just went at 12am. Police. What have I done!

Just asking me if I could move my car so they could push a white van out of the way. There was a nasty accident. My car wasn't hit thank god. Apparently the police didn't arrive for over two hours according to my neighbour.

Here's some rather crappy pictures. Nice front wheel on that Audi. :D

I always wonder how people can **** up so badly in residential areas like that.

But then I realise that people often drive far too fast in such areas. The speed that people hurtle down my road is astonishing and infuriating, and I live down a minor side-road!

I wonder, what would be the legal position here had you been sleeping off a bender?? :/

(IE would they accept the keys from you and move it themselves, or just arrest you for being "In Charge" the moment you stepped out of the house holding the keys (Which wouldn't surprise me at all actually :( ))

Amazing isn't it? I live down a Victorian terraced street, 100m long, cars parked either side with only just enough room for one car to pass, kids playing in the street and loads of pets roaming. Yet you'll still see plenty of people accelerating hard in 2nd to get from one end to the other. There has been more than one cat flattened down here, and plenty of door mirrors taken out too. The mind boggles.

So just another day in Finchley then.

So glad I moved out of London.

Lol yep. Had my wing mirror smashed a few months back in my street so now I always push it in to protect it.

How did that not wake you up ? Got quadruple glazing or something ?

Not only that but I was awake on my laptop in the bedroom and apparently it was a pretty loud bang. I was oblivious to the whole thing :p

Have you ever had a crash outside your house? You'd be surprised how sound proof your house is, I have a couple a year living on a main road with national limit (completely ridiculous should be a 50 max) and its not until I start to see the build up of traffic until I notice what has happened.
